Ok its been a week since i have been here, not because i didn't want too but i have been too busy at work.

Congrats to Lufkin on a great game against my DAWGS. This was one of the best games i have ever seen and i am proud of both teams for their efforts.

Hopefully Lufkin can go all the way, cause as i say, if your gonna get beat out, get beat out by the team that wins the championship.

One thing i think that will be hard for Lufkin is Cove exposed the short pass in the second half and as we all know SLC is a passing team. Lufkin will have to make that adjustment to keep it close and hopefully the second string QB can have the game of his life.

Hope LP's starting QB makes a full recovery from the broken arm and comes back for more football. I hate to see any kid get hurt where it affects his life after HS football.

Good luck to Lufkin and way to go DAWGS, you have made many of us proud and we will be back.

I attended the game too...Lufkin's execution of screen passes and QB play (#5 & #16) were the difference in the game. Both teams played very well and it was an exciting playoff game where each team's playmakers stepped-up.

Like you, I'm rooting for the team (Euless Trinity) that eliminated us (A&M Consolidated) from the playoffs...E.T. is a very complete team with a great RB.

Yeah but i think LP will have their hands full in this game. They can possibly do it but i think SLC just may be too much but i hope not. This is high school football so anything can happen and anyone can win.

I have to give credit to Lufkin and most of their fans, they are first class by all measures. They did not put up a lot of trash talk before or after the game and their board and newspaper are class acts.
I hope that Cove will put Lufkin on their non district schedule in the future as they are a great team to measure up against. I know everyone thinks we play in a weak district but i think that is quite the opposite. We do play some pretty good teams including Judson who a lot of people wrote off earlier in the season and look where they are right now.

I hope i am still home cause i will be listening to the game on the net if i am.

When did COVE say the refs ripped them??? Lufkin played great we gave them credit just as SLC did today and I assume Lufkin will give you guys credit. Longview fans are the only ones complaining about refs I do believe.;)

You are a clown. Refs did not lose the game...if you say that then you must not have been there. Lufkin played a great game and won that is the end. I did not think we had sore losers like other people:(

Lufkin did beat us, no doubt about that and not taking anything away from them.

These Refs were some of thw worst ones i have seen. IN a game like this it should be like the Super Bowl and you get the best of the best. These refs flat out sucked and they did not make calls that were blatant very often for either side.
Granted, had we played better we would have won regardless of any reckless intent of the officials. The same can be said of the Lufkin / SLC game if what i am reading that the refs were not that great in that game either.

I am not complaing about spilled milk, just stating my opinion on the refs in our game. We should have played better but we didn't and we got beat so we are beginning off season and getting ready for 2006. I hope our teams get the opprotunity to meet again in the future regardless of pre season or playoffs as playing against such a quality program will only help us to grow and become the state champions we are trying to be.
We are on the right road, just blew a tire so when we get it repaired we will be back next yea.

Is that meant to be some racist remark. You don't even deserve to be from Cove dude. Lufkin has been nailed all year by penelties, but they probably committed most of them. Aggresive teams will get flagged. Deal with it. So I guess a ref is a bad ref if he calls penelties on your team and a good one calls them on the other. :rolleyes: I've seen some pretty poor officiating this year that is true, but in no shape, form, or fashion has it effected the outcome of a game. Okay I didn't see the Longview SG game, but here again I don't question the outcome. Good teams make other teams not play well. The stupidest remark ever made on these boards is for someone to say, "if we had played better we would have won." Duh!

Lufkin lost plain and simple and 95 percent of Lufkin fan's will tell you that.!! The lame excuses get very old and tiresome. They were the better team. Period!!

The zebras are simply thrown in the mix - a part of the game. You win some and lose some. I honestly have no idea what this guy is even talking about in the Cove game other than the play toward the end on the end-around. While the confusing was great - the right call was made. CCove should have stopped Lufkin on the 3rd and 13 the next play.

I felt Lufkin got a few bad officiating breaks against SLC this past Saturday, but maybe they feel the same way also. I've seen better, and also far worse refs. Anytime Coach Outlaw calls a timeout strictly so he can chew on the refs you know you have a less than ideal crew. However, I would never state we lost because of the refs - that doesn't compute.

Yes the calls were more one sided but Lufkin might have actually committed more penalty's. They were not the reason Lufkin lost that game that is for sure. I know what you are saying favpack. About the only time it is a legit excuse to say that the officials lost the game for your team is if they make an obvious horrible call (and it is proved to be wrong after looking at replays) at the very end of the game that gives the other team a win.

Cove took great strides this year playing programs like LP and Judson. I hope Cove puts teams like these into their non-district schedule. It would help tremendously to play with the big boys in the regular season.

That is the problem. Most top 5a team's do not play 4a teams unless it is a rival or if they just moved up to 5a and they still had games left with a 4a team.
