Four items are "unacceptable." Whatever they are and whatever that means. I assume one of them is assistant pay.

It's very hard for me to assume anything and I've read quite a few speculations. I'll list what I know, but that leaves a lot of gray area for what it might be:
1. Leach says it's not about the money.
2. As far as money goes, I've seen it phrased as base compensation and past Leach contracts had a cheap base compensation, but all the other various pay and bonuses jumped up the dollar amount quite a bit. Until this point, Leach was getting a base of like $300K a year, but making anywhere from $1.7-$2.0M a year.
3. I don't know what side to take. I've seen it rumored that Tech might be trying to run him off, but maybe Leach is a moron about submitting to what they're asking him to do.
4. I really don't know that assistant salaries is the holdup. I know Leach wanted to get them more money, but I don't know that is the issue.
5. These are things that they might ask Leach to do that he's not doing right now and he might be balking over:

A. Going all over the country and talking about jobs and/or not squashing rumors of being interested in jobs.
B. Not having job interview requests come through Gerald Meyers.
C. Leach doesn't do much for fundraising.
D. Leach doesn't go through Meyers for hiring assistant coaches.
E. Leach doesn't stick to a budget.
F. Maybe they want an image change for Leach to not be so out there.
G. Maybe the buyout amount is a lot larger.
6. I think Leach needs Tech and Tech needs Leach. He's too goofy to get jobs at most places that get better talent on a yearly basis and he's the best coach in the country at getting a team to play better than their talent level.
7. My problem with the whole deal is there is a money crunch going on and Tech doesn't have the money to pay Leach what he's really worth and I'm not so sure that Leach is not too bull-headed to not give a little to Tech as a sign of thanks for giving him his chance. No matter how good Leach is, he still owes it to Tech that they have him a shot when many are scared by his toolkit of actions.

Nope assistant pay is not one of those things. All the assistants got raises from what I understand.

Maybe not directly, like a Mack brown that is much more the CEO type, but the increased interest over the Tech program in the Leach era is hard to deny. Leach has improved the product on the field, and the expansion funding has come along nicely in a region that isn't the most liberal in spending discretionary dollars, unless it's for a useless freeway through a small city...

1. I don't want Mack, Part 2.
2. I don't care if Leach does raise funds.
3. I'm just saying he doesn't and they might want him to.
4. Yes, part of that fundraising is the fact that I keep giving to the Red Raider Club, buying parking passes, tickets, and Red Raider Replay!:D
