Before you reply please read the article and you'll see how much respect Coach Outlaw has for SLC.

I think the respect is mutual. Coach Dodge also recognizes what a great program Lufkin has. Try this link for a similar article in Southlake.

A lot of respect between two great programs and two great coaches. It feels like two prize fighters circling each other trying to find a weakness.

I will never trash Lufkin. The program is too good. Great Coach and Great Fans.

Two good articles - and respect oozes from both coaches toward the other. I did have to smile just a little bit when Coach Dodge was comparing Plano's D speed to Lufkin's D speed. And, that's no disrespect to the great Plano squad this year - they clearly played a great defensive game against SLC - but I do wonder if speed was the reason they got 3 picks and held a world class offense to 31 points. IF so, Lufkin could very well have a great day defensively.

CC - I didn't get the opportunity to watch Plano, and I assume you haven't watched Lufkin yet. It sounds as though Coach Dodge was impressed with Plano's defensive speed. It will be interesting to see how he feels Plano's defensive speed compares with Lufkin's. My assumption until proven otherwise is that Lufkin is faster on D than Plano - measurably so.

I have "assumed" nothing, but "trust" that Coach Dodge has seen both, at least on film.
I asked a simple question, because your post seem to imply that you had seen both Plano and Lufkin's defense play.

This is the 2nd article that i have seen that has said Caldero King is one of Lufkin star wr's?? King is a 3rd or 4th string qb. Where does that come from?? Bryant, Thomas, Raines, Shankle, and Gordon have been the best wr's all year with Bryant and Thomas having the best numbers. Thomas will obviously be at qb Saturday though. This will put 2 6'3 guys on the outside in Dez Bryant and Thad Gordon. ( Yes i know Dez is listed at 6'1 on the roster but he is 6'3, I asked him and he said that is an old roster before he grew another 2 inches) Just wanted to clear that up before somebody said he is 6'1 according to the roster. ;) Shankle and Raines will be the slot wr's.
2 powerhouse programs with mutual respect. Should be fun like the last 2.

I think someone confused Rains and King - due to no. 4 and no. 14. I posted this last week and noted I thought King was actually now 3rd team qb behind Jeremy and the soph. I think he's still 3rd team even though Jeremy went down.
