Although Moody was great in his first few games, he really did not have a good season. Dimitri Nance should take his spot at runningback. Also you did not list any quarterbacks. I think that it has to go to either McElroy or Ponder.

i listed my certainties, moody played on a CRAPPY team, i give him the nod, for now...but keep the names and ideas coming please!

i basically need two linebackers and a qb, i still cant decide if mcelroy is that good, or if he plays on a good team...taylor potts went through my mind until that ugly SLC loss, 52-0 yikes, matt stafford and jevan snead are easily 1 and 2 in state, but both play 4A, this year the all 4A team would WHOOP 5A

QB has got to be McElroy, for the simple fact he is freakin good. Potts didn't impress as much this year as the hype played him up too much, that wasn't his fault, but the media's. He'll be a good college player. Pierre Beasley could be 2nd team QB.
As far as RB goes, Dmitri Nance should've been on your list.
Apparently you have not seen Mr. Mandela Roberts at lb for Lufkin. He makes snot bubbles blow snot bubbles.

Yeah Nance deff. should replace Moody. I watched them both play, and regardless of their teams, Nance was much more impressive. McElroy and Ponder have been the best 2 QB's I have seen this year. Also I was suprised to see no Euless Trinity O-Lineman. I wouldn't be able to give you a specific name of the best, or even if they are individually good. But as a group they are extremely impressive.

i dunno about kickers, but that kid from Plano had a leg! what was his name? and how was his stats for FGs?

Bradley Stephens is a junior, but may be the best runningback in the state. He had the best numbers through the regular season of anyone. I think it was close to 2700 yards

Moody's team was not the only reason that he did not put up good stats this year.

bradley stephens will be the best rb next year, for sure, i am willing to with mcelroy after he wins state, like i said still lacking lb's for 5A, norton was obvious though. thanks for the lufkin backers name, im sure i can find him on my leonard hewitt clips
euless trinity line is great just like katys. but its because of coaching and hard work, that was my oline i had picked for preseason allstate, and webb was downright scary at times this year...i know steve moore out of jersey village is a stud too... i would say o line is fairly set, as is defensive backfield and defensive line but anything is up for change...
as for kickers i know boerne has hunter lawrence, he will start 4 years at texas, the kid is great, for 5A i havent seen a standout yet, same with punter, rumor is smithson valleys kicker has a boot, so ill see that first hand this week...
once again thanks for all the names and ill look into the running back thing since the response is so resounding...

also right now i have...
Defensive Player of The Year
Chykie Brown, North Shore
Offensive Player of the Year
Phillip Payne, South Garland
I would say chinasa and norton are right behind brown for defense, payne is an offensive standout, but input is very appreciated...

db- daniel johnson, spring woods
I cannot agree with this. He is a fast kid but he does not play at an all-state level. He is getting a lot of pub from the colleges because of his speed but he did not play up to his potential. Spring Woods defense was the weak link on their team this year and he did not carry the defense like previous SW all- stater Robert Ferguson.
Will Tompson played better than him this year but that would be homer.

Leonard Hewitt was twice the DB Brown was. Hewitt doubled him up in INT's this season and has more pass breakups. Please Phillip Payne for Offensive MVP. More like Nance, and McElroy

first of all the All state teams are supposed to be only for regular season and not take into account what is done in the playoffs. Second, who would you give the quarterback to if mcelroy does not win state?

Ryan Sheffield is his name. The guy is incredible. I believe he is only a junior as well. He will be able to name the college he wants to attend. He is not a bad punter either. Against SGP and DeSoto he nailed at least 5 punts inside the 5 yard line, did the same against SLC. He is great.

theres no way will gets it over daniel johnson...i will concede and give Qb to greg mcelroy, and i will remove moody for nance...
On:
QB Greg McElroy, Southlake Carroll
RB Dimitri Nance, Euless Trinity
Off:
Emmanuel Moody, Coppell
lol thats what he gets for opting to USC over texas anyways...
offensive player of the year does not include mcelroy, at least as far as i can see, and CHykie Brown is hands down the defensive player of the year, and a magnificent punt returner, really, take a look at this guy, hes the fastest player in the state, a joy to watch, he will be a great player at UT

If you're looking for LB's watch #7 tommorrow for Judson. Tony Harp. I believe he has 151 tackles this year. He will bring the house.

Stephens for sure. No one rushed for more yards in the regular season then this guy. 2600+ yds 38 TD'S. Stephens simply was in a league of his own this year.

I think that your All State Team needs to include a Dragon Def. Lineman. Leslie Ray had a lack luster year, and wasnt anything special when he played Southlake. Adam Powers made Leslie Ray look terrible. Mike Boydston and/or Powers have had great years for the Dragons, and should be a part of the all state team. Maybe not first team, but definately a part of 2nd, 3rd, or honerable mention.
Mandela Roberts from Lufkin is a manchild. He was the best player on the Lufkin defense. He had mcelroy's number all day. He should definately be 1st team all state along with Patrick Benoist, Anthony Lewis, and the kid from Judson.

I don't know how I forgot about Anthony Lewis. That kid was so amazing. He was all over the field.

making the finals gets lots of player credit on all-star teams. i predict there will be several slc players on one team or another. my list includes mckay, mcelroy and michael prince for sure, with evan fentriss a possible on offense. defense will include michael boydston, patrick benoist and agnew, with adam powers a possibility as is tre reese.

Well definitely Leslie Ray I don't know about the rest of his games but he got DOMINATED by Saia "Eric" Falohola. And if this is 1st team all state, Cody Williams should be swapped simply as a result of injuries putting a slight damper on his season. In their place should be Henry Niutei and Boydston.

QB - Mcelroy hands down, regardless of the talent that surrounds him...so impressive. But I haven't seen Ponder or Beasley play either
BigWhiteJake
12-11-2005, 10:19 PM
not beasley, he lacked throwing ability, ponder, potts, and andy all crossed my mind at various points, in the end i take mcelroy however.
my offensive player of the year is still phillip payne
