congrats on your recent success .. feels good don't it? ;) I hope it continues for you and yours. Football success is indigenous in that area of that state so I don't believe it was fluke. Good luck!

The problem I see arising in Wylie is the split between Wylie East and Wylie. The transition could be quite tough in a town like Wylie who is used to having only one high school. Both will probably drop to 4A and possibly re-aligned in a district with McKinney, McKinney North, Rockwall, Heath, Royce City, and (cross your fingers) Highland Park :D.

Definitely no fluke, Wylie proved last season they are a very tough and solid football team. Hebron, Bowie, Cedar Hill.. Copperas Cove... who would disagree?

There were 2 kids on the field for the Katy D that touched the field in last years State Game.(Tapong and Holl)

6 of the Starters on D did not even play in the first 2 games. 1 started on the Soph team.

Only 5 of the Starters even played on Varsity last year. 1 was a Starter.

You are right......Experience was HUGE!

Sorry......slow Friday morning.......

havent seen this thread in a while so i thought i would try and resurrect.
On a sadder note tragedy strikes WHS today. 19yr old senior boy dies in motorcycle accident this morning. Our prayers to that family.

Noah will be fine, he has good wheels and a good arm. Wylie's challenge will be a new offensive line gelling together during non district play. That is where Nick comes in, because IMO it is easier to run block than pass block. And a good running game is a new QB's best friend. By the time district rolls around you guys should be at top form.

I agree, the offensive line is going to be the big question mark. Noah has a great arm, throws a very nice ball. He will also get the 5-15 yd gains very nicely. He doesnt have the top end speed that Monk has, but he will get the tough yards, as he is a more power runner. Nick Knott will be aided by Brian Williams who is coming up from the JV, and is a good runner. The WR's will be faster and more athletic as a group. Colby Harper returns as a 1st Team All Dist guy and Bennie Jones will add speed on the outside. As freshman, this group was pretty much unbeatable. Ball, Harper, Noah C, Lowe, Finnie, and Knott have all started since they were 10th graders. If we find 2 oliners to step up, Wylie will be very good in 09.

Another thing about Noah is over the past couple of years it seems he has played about 5 different positions. That alone says volumes about his grasp of the offense. I mean he should know where everybody will be on any play seeing that he probably practiced that position. Any big guys coming up from JV? One thing that will help the O line is the extra practices you guys got during the playoffs. If they hit the weights in off season, Im sure Coach Jones will whip em' into shape.

There are a couple of big linemen coming up. Coach Jones does a great job with the line. The big question mark coming into last season was the o line.....Jay Jones did a fine job with that group. You are right about the 6 weeks of extra practice, I cant wait for spring football to start.:)

just curious and too lazy to look, but whats katys enrollment and wylies enrollments. reason i ask is because we are in the midst of having 2 high schools so i know it really doesnt effect this coming season but might impact the following seasons. would that mean we have to go back to 4a if enrollment isnt 2000 or whatever it is for 5a?

highland park has been a beeatch for us

I believe the cutoff was like 1950 last year. Richardson Pearce was the cutoff mark I believe.

I believe Katy's enrollment is 2300 or 2500. I know it's one of those two.
