Kinda interesting..

It looks like the Ohio State Buckeyes have landed their man at quarterback. Houston (Texas) Eisenhower quarterback Kenny Guiton had been seeing some interest from teams in the Big XII and the WAC but Ohio State recently stepped up to the table and a Buckeye offer was too much to turn down for the 6-foot-2, 178-pounder.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer has reported that Guiton has accepted the recent offer to join the Buckeyes. Guiton and his father are scheduled to be in Columbus over the weekend
The Buckeyes only have two quarterbacks on scholarship currently with Terrelle Pryor and Joe Bauserman on the depth chart. There was concern that the Buckeyes might have to look at moving one of their defensive backs or even Grant Schwartz to quarterback to help with depth but now with a third quarterback on his way to Columbus that move may be unnecessary.

Guiton should easily get past the NCAA clearinghouse with a 3.3 GPA and a 1340 on the SAT.

Panic move by The Vest. They just got stiffed by Tajh Boyd who many considered an OSU lock and then they quickly ran to Austin Boucher who politley said he would rather play for Miami (OH) than go to OSU. With just 2 scholarship QB enter Spring, The Vest panicked and offered a QB who will probably never touch the ball at OSU (at least not as a QB). He could have waited and had an extra ship to use next year on Devin Gardner and/or Brandon Doughty. Congrats to Mr. Guiton though.

Never know how things will turn out, but does look like The Vest did panic...Don't know a whole lot about Guiton except he's suppose to be a Dual-threat QB....Mighty cold up there though...

OSU is having the same problem now that Texas had with Vince. Vince signed in '02 and because of his presence, Texas was not able to sign a single top QB in '03 or '04 and probably lost Periliar in the '05 class because he didn't want to wait behind Vince. Texas gambled and just didn't take a QB instead of picking up a lesser QB in '03 and/or '04. A move that looks wise now, but could have been disastrous had Vince gone down in those years.

Guiton wasn't really a running threat for Ike. Ike's game was going vertical to their talented receivers. I am not sure what other options Guiton had, but TP is obviously the man at OSU for the next few years. They are experiencing some of the stuff Texas did when Vince was on campus.
