My grand plan is to get some good seats (not 50 yd line seats or anything near there) to watch any game at DKR. The game I really am determined to go to is when the Longhorns play my university, Texas Tech. I want to buy a few tickets and enjoy the game day festivities there. I'll be bold enough the wear my Red Raiders jersey. :D

I wouldn't mind sitting in the visitors' section with my fellow supporters of the Red Raiders. I just don't know when they release them to buy. I want to purchase them ASAP so I will be prepared.

If you are a former student of Tech, you can go through them to get them...That way you can insure you will get to sit with the Tech crowd...Dont expect a whole helluva lot to be alloted to them though..Ask Lonny about when Tech tickets will go on sale, he will know for sure.

If you are not a Tech alum (Donor), your best bet is probably a scalper. Possible, you could purchase a ticket from a Tech student next semester. Visitors at DKR are in the NW corner. I am making the presumption you are not a current student at Tech.

Actually...I am a current student at Tech. The allotment and release date for them I have no idea when they do it. Before the season? The week of the game? When U.T. begins to sell their tickets? I have no clue how to snag tickets as soon as they are released for DKR.

I might just buy the tickets and sit amongst the U.T. fans with a couple of other people, if I can buy them earlier than when Tech gets their allotment of tickets.

Southeast corner now.

Families and large donors get first crack. Then season ticket holders and students. Amounts vary. When you register next semester you will have a chance to purchase athletic tickets for home games. Most schools use a draw system for away games. If you are a current student call the athletics office on your campus and ask for specific details. Good Luck.

PM Lonny about the Tech tickets, he will know.

Cool. I'll probably holla at Lonny23 about obtaining tickets to DKR (hopefully it sitll has a grass field! Maybe they can put a stop to the FieldTurf change.)

Thanks for the info, fellow posters.

:cool:Texas sells out with season ticket holders so the only way to get on the 50 is through a scalper.

I can promise you that the Tech tickets are neither on the 50, nor very close. In 07, I was about as close to I-35 as I was to the field sitting on the top row! I will say that being a Tech season ticket holder comes in handy for places like Texas and Nebraska in 09 because I won't have to pay a scalper to go.

Tech season tickets for renewal are on sale now. 77% of the seats now require people to give money to the Red Raider Club. It's not to the level of Texas though.

I don't know if he can risk waiting for August to get Texas tickets. He can for most road games, but he might not for Texas. If he (Or any of you other guys) want to sit in the Tech section, I'll see what I can do about tickets in April. Tickets are usually mailed out in mid to late August.

Here are the important dates for Rockland:

Apr. 21 Tech season tickets on sale to general public.

May 18 Individual game pre-order forms mailed to all season ticket holders and $750+ level RRC donors - Includes opportunity to purchase Texas, OU and Texas A&M tickets. Me and many others get first dibs on Texas tickets.

Aug. 5-7 Exclusive, THREE DAY ONLY, RRC member individual game on sale
- $350+ RRSF donors
- Allows members to purchase home and away games before seats are release to the general public
- Texas A&M and OU tickets will ONLY be available as part of a mini-pack

These are the leftover dates if he doesn't throw down a decent chunk of change:

Aug. 10 Individual game tickets on sale at Select-a-Seat outlets and www.texastech.com
- Texas A&M and OU tickets available as mini-pack only

Aug. 12 Individual game tickets on sale at the Athletics Ticket Office
- Texas A&M and OU tickets available as mini-pack only

Oct. 4 If available, individual Texas A&M and OU tickets on sale at Select-a-Seat outlets and www.texastech.com

Oct. 5 If available, individual Texas A&M and OU tickets on sale at the Athletics Ticket Office

My experience is that most teams put individual game tickets on sale to the general public in August, but I've always read that Texas doesn't sell them because they sell out season tickets.

I don't think there are any ticket sales to students for road games. You're competing with the general public.

I don't know the exact number of tickets Tech gets for the Texas game, but it's probably about 5K if I'm guessing. The seats are terrible everywhere. I've sat behind the end zone at A&M (Lower deck) and OU (End zone riser) and almost in the end zone at Oklahoma State (Lower deck) and Baylor (Lower deck) and Texas sticks us at the very top.

For comparison sake at Tech, the visitors (Including the band) get 13 and 116. They also feel unwelcomed by my side of the field in the lower deck (Mostly students) and the upper deck (The people who love Tech and don't want to sit on the quiet side!) I mean why pay more when you can razz the other team and fans? I'd think about moving to the West side if I had to sit in the sun much, but games at 6 aren't a problem. Besides, I refuse to move because nobody walks in front of me (Last row before a walkway) and I'm right next to the exit (About 5 feet away).
