The kid really is special. He was only a sophomore this year I believe. Don't quote me on that, possibly a junior. When I on the staff there we knew he was going to be something special. He has an amazing leg. We were discussing getting him to start kicking without a tee by his senior year so he'd be even more intriguing to the college scouts. I wasn't there this season so I'm not sure what's going on with him as far as recruiting, but he'll be playing for someone big one day. He's also a heck of a baseball player. His older brother was the anchor of the offensive line in '07 and won a few state titles, 2 really great kids.

Apparently the 3rd team and honorable mentions are left off the USATODAY.com website, but this list was published in the paper. Junior WR Eric Thomas also received honorable mention honors. MaxPreps.com's small schools all-american team had QB Dez Duron on the 1st team. Duron will be playing at Yale next season.

Giles committed to La-Tech over offers from OK State, SMU, and TCU among others.

SR DB Trey Wilson just committed to Vanderbilt
SR DL Blake Cogswell has chosen to stay close to home and committed to LA-Monroe over the Northwestern Wildcats.

junior DL Brandon Jackson has offers from Arkansas and TAMU, hoping for an offer from LSU.
