Not trying to hijack your thread but I was wondering how this weather in the DFW area affects prapration for this weeks games. My assumption is that SLC has some indoor practice facilites and that they can keep preparing. How about Trinity?

Garland ISD is like the post office. They make you come in no matter what. The only time I remember Garland being closed was two or three years ago when there was a gas shortage, and the district decided to conserve gas and shut the schools down for 2 days. Other than that, Garland never has bad weather days... It always makes the students mad... Mesquite, Dallas, and even the Plano schools are shut down all around us, but we always had to show.

SLC has an indoor turf practice facility that the Dallas Cowboys used to use in inclement weather. As for Trinity, I don't know. I do know that cold and snowy weather has closed many a school but I don't ever know of it stopping a team from practicing or playing(w/the exception of lightning).

Well I know Trinity does not have an indoor practice facility to prepare in. But whether they are practicing or not? Couldnt say. I know when we had snow days at Garland, we would practice anyways. Whats a little cold weather going to do to you? ;)

That's actually not too far off. Prior to our evil turf and indoor facility being installed - the band use to practice at the Expo center - the same place we have rodeos, riding events and animal shows.

the only time GISD closes down is when its too icy for the buses to go pick up the kids or if there is a gas shortage....... however since they canceled all tutorials today i have a feeling if the weather keeps goin like its supposed to we might not have school tomorrow

we got out last wednesday at noon and friday at 1...not for bad weather but for teacher development on wed and the game on friday

That's pretty sweet. ECA just has the 2 gyms. Which, from what I know, every other schools in Shreveport has. But nothing more. Things are better over here in Texas.
