just wondering if anyone has any news on who there school will play for next years non district match-ups

For us Kimball is a given...that's 1
hoping we keep Garland in ours...really turning out to be a bit of a rivalry...possible # 2

Realignment happens in February. With the expansion of teams in each district an almost a given, speculation of non-district foes, seems like, …. well, …. speculation.


For instance, Carroll. In ‘02, Coaches had Coppell lined up for a pre-district opponent and expected to have Grapevine in their district. On the day of realignment, they scrambled to try to keep a date with Grapevine and couldn’t. You just don’t “know”. And any fan that says they “know” , with 100% certainty, what the UIL will do with realignment, is kidding themselves.

I asked Coach Jordan of Garland this same question a couple of weeks ago and this was his answer.

He said that until redistricting is completed and the new districts announced, that there won't be any deals made because you won't know if you have a 10, 9, or 8 team district, so you don't know if you need 1, 2, or 3 non district games. He said there would be a mad scramble to schedule gmaes after the realignment comes out and teams in 10 teams districts will study very hard as to what team they will choose for their only non district game. He also said that however the thing comes down, the Garland/Ennis series is over. I think they may be kind of tired of us.
