What are his stats this season?

gritty52
12-06-2005, 09:49 PM
He has 3100 yds. and 39 tds. Around 10 of the 14 games we have played he was done at the half or early 3rd quarter. He has around 1000 in the playoffs alone. This guy is a real stud, and should be a top candidate for player of the year. :D :D :D

Has he committed to any college for next year? Who all is making him offers?

gritty52

He has verbally committed to Arizona St. Talked to his dad after the consol. game and this is his choice. These Texas schools are going to regret not chasing him like ASU did!!!:D :D

What his size like, and his attitude like. There has to be a reason this kid is going to ASU over like a UT or texas school

NewSherriffInTown
12-08-2005, 02:42 PM
Maybe it's because UT has about 100 running backs committed already plus Jamaal Charles there already.

gritty52
12-08-2005, 02:52 PM
Sherrif you are right about the 100 other committs. His attitude is great. I know hin personally and he is just an all round fine young man. Yes sir, no sir ,that kind of young man. He didn't do but one camp or combine and we think thats why his stock wasn't so high. He wanted to go somewhere that had a run oriented offense too!!!!

Those are beyond ridiculous stats...3100?! Kid must be quite thorough!

I'm officially going on record - Nance is your 5A POY. He is the state's MVP - but he won't win - McElroy will. Hard to go wrong either direction. If they considered a defensive player - I go with Leonard Hewitt.

Favpack the reason he will not win it is him playing for Trinity!!! Would like to know your reasons why he won't win it?????

No, he's at Aridzona!:p He's trying to revive the desert swarm defense of the early 90's.

So he carries the ball 30+ times a game. Who else gets to touch the ball?

Those stats are for the whole season. He carries the ball 22 times a game.

He splits time with #25 LaDerrick Handy who is not too bad himself. I think he has over 1000 yards rushing as well.

Handy gets carries and the QB has a few. All the other backups combined for about 110 carries this year. The starters get almost all the carries with the backups averaging 8/game.

That's nothing more than a rumor than, becuase I know for a fact thats not true. By the way the school he has committed to is Arizona State.

If a kid is good, he's good. No matter what team he plays for...How come this kid isnt getting any press?? Look at Jerrod Douglas when it was his time to shine, I think a few people knew of him..If this kids is generating this much yardage, someone needs to get this kid, alot of press time and ink. Like someone else said Sweeny from SW doesnt have the yardage this kid is raking up, but is still ranked one of the Best RB's in the nation..

LUFPAN

When you can rack up 3000+ yds rushing at the 5a level you should be getting all kinds of press. I hate that this kid's not getting the press or respect he deserves.

Trinity, in general does not receive alot of press compared to comparable teams. For one, Trinity is only about 7 miles away from SLC. This is where the attention goes. On Sunday nights here there is a show on ABC called, "High School Sports Special." I can't tell you how many times Trinity has been downright ignored. When driving back from the Consolidated/Trinity game last week, I was listening to ESPN radio. They announced scores and stats of every game being played that day except for the Trinity game. I called them with the score, and stats on Dimitri Nance. I talked to Dimitri after the game, so I knew his stats. The person on the other end of the phone at ESPN radio gave me a bad attitude. I was nice about it over the phone. I asked if they were going to give the score. The person on the other end of the phone said, "We'll see;" then abrubtly hung up. I listened for the remaining hour drive home, and they still gave updates and final scores on every other statewide game except for Trinity. Another thing, Dimitri Nance has a very low key personality. The media loves a big mouth like T.O. Probably another factor is Trinity's Offensive Line. I'm sure that people hear about the Offensive Line, and think that anyone can run the ball with a line like they have. In order to appreciate Dimitri Nance's running, you have to actually watch him in person. I don't even think film does any justice for him.

I can't wait to see him tommorrow. Of course I hope he has a sub-par game, but to me there is noting more beautiful than watching a running back break off an 80 yard run for a TD! That is something we haven't seen from our RB's this year but we have a receiver who has a couple of them and it is a thing of beauty.

Congrats to Trinity. They are a beatable team . I thought my Tigers were gonna hang in there and pull it out after the showing of the first half. But there was too much strength up front for our "D" along with a bad coaching move. Its gonna take a hell of a defense to do it. With the horses blocking for him it is going to be a major task. Then Dimitri on his own is no piece of cake to contain, he has very nice moves and speed too. He is a smart runner " follow your blocking" simple.
How he wasnt recruited by a Texas school, I dont know. What are they feeding those boys(#77) by the way? A slab of beef, oatmeal and creatine! WOW!!!!

Well game time is almost here and were going to try to get at all of them..Our boys no this will be no easy task..But they havent had an easy task all season..This will be interesting. Cant wait for kick off..

OH how I miss Jerrod Douglass. We sure could use another good one down here at Baylor. We're on the rise though. Just give us another Judson RB and we'll be back for good.

Has there ever been a team with a 3,000 yard rusher that did not win state?
The top 2 who didn't win a title are:

Kenneth Hall 4045 yards in 1953
Wes Danaher 3569 yards in 1995

The other 3 guys in the top 5 won titles that year.

Rodney Thomas 3701 in 1990
Cedric Benson 3526 in 1999
Robert Strait 3515 in 1987

Others, including Kenneth Hall, have gotten over 3K without a title.
