Weaver was in Lubbock this weekend taking an offical to see what Tech had to offer. He had been a soft Aggie commit, but after he returned he firmed up his commitment to the Ags.

Jonathan Stewart, 4* out of LA, is another soft Aggie commit who was also listening to what Ruff and Co. had to say. We'll see where that goes.

Weaver might still head to BCS, but it's not like what TexAgs is reporting. His recruitment will come down to the wire and Tech is still in play. Stewart has a good shot to pull the trigger for Tech, too. I might know more tomorrow about where he and his dad stand on him heading to Lubbock.

Stewart kicked Satan to the curb. He's down to Tech, A&M, and Cal.

Weaver might be a kid that tells a good story to every team, but right now it sounds to me like him and Stewart are going to leave the Ags at the altar and head to Lubbock.

OK,

I now buy that he's sticking with A&M. This guy is so Aggy that College Station is the perfect place for him.

I had previously heard him say that Tech was "reloading" and A&M was "rebuilding" and he has various other quotes that really pump up Tech. He even gushed about Tech for about 10 minutes a few days ago, BUT:

1. He has also now said that he doesn't mind working hard and he knows it will be a hard road to go at A&M. He thinks eventually they'll get it together.

2. He's sticking with A&M because of Mike Sherman. He says Sherman is an open-minded coach, but I will counter that there is no way that Sherman is more open-minded than Leach.

3. He gushed about Sherman having experience as a pro coach and knowing what it takes to get to the pros and how Leach started off as a lawyer. The funny thing is the guy who didn't play college football is about 3 times the coach that the guy who couldn't win with Brett Favre as a QB is as a coach.

He doesn't want to leave. He just wants more money in his current job and uses the threat of leaving to try to get more money.
