I think it is commonly referred to as the SLC Spanky-spank. Or you can use the name they use over in the country (lufkin). There, it's simply referred to as "giterdun".

If anyone watched the nevada vs. fresno state game nevada came out with this new offense called "the pistol" which was basically a spread shotgun o but the qb was only 4 yrds deep making it easier to hand the ball off or air it out if need be, it was VERY impressive as nevada almost came away with a a win against a very good FSU team that almost beat usc. If high school teams had the personel to pull the pistol o off cleanly i think it would be very exciting to watch, i know a number of high school coaches were at that game to see how the offense faired and from the looks of it, it should be getting more looks as the years progress. Any way back to the topic, from what ive seen lufkin's formula for winning has been with the running game. If they can do that effectively, they can set up the big play and swing momentum.

sorry for the essay.:D

I think anyone can comment on what LP has run the last 14 games, but with Ralph pulling the trigger, I don't think anyone can say for sure. I'm just as interested as everyone else to see what they fire off with. I bet it will be good whatever it is. I would hate to know that I had to prepare all week for the unknown.

I would say HB draw, and tons of it. I bet youll see at least 3 fades in this game as well.

The same they did last Friday nite in Waco after Claybon went down. Run with an occasional pass. The backup QB for Lufkin passed the ball O.K. He did throw for big yardage on one play. Whatever offense they throw at SLC, it will be Lufkin's defense that will determine whether they move on to the next game. And it's a darn good defense. Good luck to all ya'll Lufkin country folk at your next game.
