I don't get the Fox sports channel out here in the sticks. Can someone tell me who looked good and who looked bad for both teams?

I heard that Louisiana won 10-7.

Yeah i went it was 10-7 louisana escapes with the V. McKinner Dixon out of Lufkin dominated, and he chased down Louisiana's QB/WR committed to Tennessee on the run! Very impressive. Also no big surprise but Korey Mangum played a stifling defense.

That is a LOW scoring game for the top players in 2 states!! I bet Cali & Florida kids are talking some smack that they could ROLE TX or LA!

It's not that the offenses were bad, I mean look at the players, but the defenses were overwhelming on both sides. Also the best part of the game was when LA's #10 slow white kid was running out of bounds and mckinner pushed him over a bench and he flipped. The refs thought he tripped so it was no personal foul.

Not a single UT or OU commit played in this game. So although it had some of our best (aTm, Tech, and Baylor) it didnt have all of them.

Classy comment.

He is slow, though. 5.09 slow...

This game was far from Texas or Lousyanna's best players. All the Lousyanna players were from South Lousyanna, and didn't include Perriloux, anybody from John Curtis, Evangel, or West Monroe. Lousyanna had a lot of players committed to Non-D1 schools.

Most of the Texas guys are going D1, but the lineup was almost completely Houston-area guys.

I only marginally paid attention although I saw most of the game.

It was Houston kids against Louisiana.....would have been different if it had been an all-star Texas team.

Even the Oil Bowl doesn't have an All-Texas team out there. They do have some good names, though. It's Dallas and some outsiders filling out the lineup

Mr Clean, didn't mean to offend you in saying that it was good to see some contact in football, it was a little push. Although the same RB from LA tried to start a fight TWICE during the game. Classy Players.

No argument out of me. The top 22 in Texas are much better than the top 22 in Louisiana - especially the past couple of years.

We just haven't had the players the past couple of years that we were producing earlier.

It's all good. Who was the running back, if you remember? Just curious.

The Louisiana RB that started two fist fights was #13- Emanual Singleton (Tara). His got a little hot head on him. Seemed like anytime someone touched him he wanted to throw fist.

Niether team could do much on offense. RB from Houston Cy-Fair-Omar Conteh was unstoppable when he was in the game. They could of kept him in the game and he would of had about 250 yds rushing,, he was was getting 8 yds everytime.

Some of the better looking players:

Al Jones - St.Augustine, La - LSU - kid is going to be a player.
Mckinner Dixon- Lufkin, Tx - Tx Tech- showed his toughness and speed.

Omar Conteh - Cy-Fair, Tx - unstoppable when playing.

Those 3 kids really stood out to me in the game overall. The Al Jones kid is going to be a player.

They threw the flag for a late hit but "waved it off." So, it was a non-call.

Mckinner Dixon didnt "Push-him." They were both slowing down and the sidelines are very small there and the kid flipped over the bench. Dixon didnt push him...

being a tad bit bias I thought Thorton #34 was excellent when on the field. also Eman #69 open and sealed some lanes for Conteh #22. The sky dive team was cool also.

For some reason, Jones' St. Aug team this last year underachieved big-time.

St. Aug had several elite players on the squad, but didn't even make the playoffs. I've heard grumbling about the coaching from their fans, but I've never gotten a detailed answer on why they underperformed.

Well, he (Al Jones) was all over the place. I think he made about 15 Solo tackles and assisted on all the others. I guess he comes from good bloodlines because they said his dad was a football stud back in the day at Tulane ( I think) or maybe LSU.

Seemed like a good kid also. They did a sideline interview with him and he seemed level headed.

They say his has a younger brother that is suppose to be better then him coming up at St.Augustine.
