In its 18th year, the award recognizes sponsors who enable students to "develop and refine their extracurricular talents to the highest degree possible within the educational system," the UIL release said. Winners are nominated by principals and superintendents and selected by judges in three areas (music, athletics and academics).

Lineweaver was one of just two athletic coaches honored, joining Santa Fe volleyball coach Anne Marie Milligan. He has spent the last nine seasons at Trinity, leading the Trojans into one of the nation’s most successful football programs.





I have total respect for Coach Lineweaver and the Trinity program he has built.. Total respect is what comes to mind when I think of coach Lineweaver, its what he has for his kids, its what he has for his opponents and its what he has for Texas high school football. They couldnt have picked a better recipeint for the award.

Good job and well deserved. His track record shows he is a class act. Anyone who stays with a program as long as he has, shows how much he loves his community and how much they love him. A great thing in itself.
