Just a couple of thoughts! Long time Lurker ( Love Lonny's, Scooters, and wide comments ) I have not posted on here for a long time, would rather lurk. I think I was the first one on this board last year to pick Longview to win state this year. They had the talent, just did not keep their mind on the goal! No pun intended. Now Lufkin, and SLC are playing for the third time. The two games before are both classics. Both teams left everything on the field. The teams and their fans were both drained physically and mentally when the games were over. Now Lufkin's QB is hurt and will not play. The way the posts have been going Coach Outlaw Should call Coach Dodge and forfiet the game. NOWAY will Lufkin win has been the general theme I have picked up on. Now I have heard that SLC is complaining about Playing at S.F.A. Not a big enough venue they say. By the way The Radio announcers for SLC should be ashamed of themselves for their comments about playing in Nacogdoches. Hell I would go watch this game if it was being played on a dirt field in Big Bend National Park! Both teams Have great offenses and defenses. Line them up, leave it all on the field and let the best team win! Personally I wish the game was being played at Kyle field, but I heard Coach Dodge nixed that. Rumor I heard was after he lost flip he said he would agree with Kyle field! Outlaw told him noway now. So all you SLC fans jump in your beamers and take that 180-190 mile drive to the country. All us Lufkin fans will stumble into our rusty pickups and drive across the river. Lord knows most of us do that at least once a week anyway! ( Joking about beamers and pickups! OK ) All I can say is the previous meetings between the two teams are a perfect example of why Texas High School Football is the best hands down. I will be at game getting grass stains on my rear end waiting on game to start. I know after the first whistle nobody will be sitting down!

I got the following quote off of Smoaky.com from Smoaky himself!

God knows, maybe if some of them come down this way, they'll realize we can speak English, we have running water, and I think we're expecting electricity any day now...and just think what might happen to "us" East Texans once we discover the INTERNET!!!

Just a few thoughts.

Thanks for the kind words. Wide is great. Ol' Scooter will be leaving me in a few months.:( That dude will get takeout food from the chow hall and come back to work to post on the board during the day!

Does your wife know you're making those weekly trips across the river because you're thirsty and need some good entertainment?:p

Believe me, you cats discovered the Internet a long time ago!:D

I think you guys ought to go all out. Get a bunch of rides from Paul Nerren's Junk Barn on 59 and take them to the game!:p

For anybody that hasn't seen that place, he has old buses just to put junk in. He bought a casket one time that still had a body in it!:D There's nothing he won't buy, but don't go on Tuesday or Wednesday. I learned that lesson the hard way.

Loved the comments about Paul Nerrens Junk barn! I have heard so many stories about him that it is ridiculous! Damn I just thought of something... I went to school with his son! We all just called him PD the whole time we were growing up. By the way my wife knows I drive across the river everyday nearly! I live in Nacogdoches, (about 2 minutes from Homer Bryce stadium ) and work in Lufkin. Born and raised in Lufkin.. Don't know how in the heck I wound up in NASTYROACHES.

One of those rent-a-cops stopped me on SFA back in August, but I didn't get a ticket. I was looking for the Stone Fort and drove down a one way the wrong way. That's not too hard on campus!:D

Lonny are you going to be at game Saturday? My daughter and I am going to be there. Would love to meet you face to face. That goes for all the posters on here! We can all agree to disagree about our teams, and enjoy a damn good football game!

I know the Nerren family really well. Especially MN. Great family, but the junk barn does fit the east texas stereotype. ;) That guy is loaded from that business though.
