With some kids, regardless of no national title, there comes a time when there is nothing else you can do.. These 2 weren't going to get any better by staying another season.

True..

Stafford could be the first pick...

Bradford may be gone also and will go high..

Stafford is pretty much a NFL QB playing in college, no suprise here. Georgia might suck next year.

Stafford is one of the most erratic QBs I've seen hyped up this much.

Stafford was getting screwed over by his lack of coaching. There was no way he was going to come back and improve his stock, might as well come out when McCoy and Bradford are projected to stay another year so Stafford is the "top of the class".

He's too injury prone. I wouldn't draft him because the life span on big backs, especially those who are injury prone, is very short. It's a bad investment.

I think Stafford has the arm to execute a wide variety of passes, but he'll have to really work on the mental side of things and be a consistent operator whenever he gets his chance. He strikes me as a player that'd do well to play under a veteran for a couple years. As we've seen, there aren't many players cut out to start immediately in the NFL.

I was actually going to start a thread about this, but I think Wells will fail and Moreno will be huge. The biggest issue is that despite being 6'1 240, Wells is VERY injury prone. I don't believe he has played more than a 5 game stretch without missing significant snaps due to injuries. I also think he has conditioning issues (which I have heard a lot of Ohio State fans say is a program-wide problem). After every run of 10+ yards, Wells is coming out of the game to catch his breath. After real long runs, he would be out for the rest of the series. Wells is also only a two down back. The Ohio State coaches almost never kept him out there on 3rd down because he is a terrible receiver and a marginal blocker.

Moreno on the other hand is a complete back. Not overly explosive, but he has a great first step and gets upfield in a hurry. He's been durable despite taking a beating in the SEC. Moreno is also a 3 down back. He can run with power or speed, but he can also catch the ball very well and he's a good blocker.

If he can stay healthy, Wells could be another Larry Johnson, but I don't think he can stay healthy and he has yet to prove that he can. Otherwise, I see him being another Chris Perry... an overrated big back from the Big Televen. Moreno on the other hand I think will be a Clinton Portis type back.

Detroit has Dante Culpeper and Jon Kitna.

St Louis has Trent Green and Mark Bulger.

I'd rather be at St. Louis.

Moreno will be another in the long line of great former Dawgs to have a good/great career in the NFL.

Stafford... well, he'll be another in the line of former Dawg QB's who didn't make it in the NFL... especially if he goes to Detroit. He's way too erratic.

Both are probably in the top 5 in their positions at the school. For Moreno, that's saying a lot considering all the great RB's to go through the school. For Stafford, well, I can barely name 5 decent QB's that played for Georgia.

As far as next year, Joe Cox will do fine in the starting role at QB, and Logan Gray could be great if Cox fails. I don't think Stafford will be missed all too much, AJ Green is still there and he'll make either of those QB look good.

Moreno will be missed MUCH more than Stafford, I think Caleb King will fill in well running the ball, but he needs to work on his pass catching, that's where Moreno stood out so much.
