Sure would be nice to DIV 1 and DIV 2 Champs here in the Mid Cities. Our schools are about 5 miles apart. That would be really neat!!!!!:D :D :D :D

They don't have to "hope", because they will and like Lonnie23 who guaranteed a Judson victory over Spring Westfield, I'll GUARANTEE that SV will take Katy to the woodshed at TELLA TULLY stadium.

SLC still has another game, and Lufkin can beat them. I hope SLC wins, and SV wins, but that might not be the case.

There is no way Jusdon wins this game. Trinity is just too good. They will run all over a pretty good Judson defense. SV I believe will beat Katy but I will stop short of predicting a win over SLC or Lufkin.

I have some analysis that will disagree with you.
Being a SV fan, you should know better than to pick against Judson this week.

Lonny, I have to say I am sorry, but I thought you, and some other Judson fans were dreaming with some of the things you guys were posting at the beginning of the playoffs. WOW. Thats all I can say. I was more proud of Judson than I was for SV this week. I went crazy when I got home and saw the Judson score. Keep it up one more week Judson! Represent 26 and S.A. Best of luck to you..

SVRanger, out of all the SV fans your the only I know thats going against the 265..Wake Up..The whole state doesnt think SA can play ball..Like I said during the season we hate each other, but this time of year we unite, not only for us, but for SA football and the 265..Like I said lets do what hasnt been done in awhile. and we can party somewhere off 1604 & 281

26-5A will be the underdog the rest of the way, but I wouldn't have it any other way personally. It would be awesome if both teams (Judson and Smithson Valley) pull it off. Juson pulled a major upset this week and with all their tradition anything can happen in the finals. As for Smithson Valley - they know whats in front of them and I expect to see the best of them over the next two weeks. I've already seen it for the last month and it's pretty damn impressive.
Both teams a capable of a state championship and I expect one and hopefully both of them to be wearing rings and housting the state championship trophy !! Good luck the rest of the way and bring'em home to SA !!

My thoughts exactly!!
Judson will win state the same way everyone said there was no chance they would beat SpringW. It'll be close but I believe the rockets can pull it out. After all they are from Dist 26-5a...nuff said.
AS for SV, Katy will be tough at first but I see them rolling past Katy and taking it all at state. Even if it is SLC...I think SV will be more prepared than ever. 3rd times the charm.
Oh yeah, and throck's gonna clean house with Turkey Valley.

You should be able to relate to this. Many people don't understand the value of continuous improvement. If you work every day to be a little better than yesterday, you'll see at the end of the road you'll see how much better you are. In Basic Training, they always tear you down and build you back up again. They turn you into a man (even the women!:p ) and you're so proud of yourself. Katy, SV, and Judson are that way. They don't always look great at the beginning of the year, but they keep working and they play late into the year.
Judson looked bad during the year, but my mantra the whole time was let Judson get into the playoffs, win those first 3 games, and then come out with their best effort in the semis. I felt like they could work a lot of bugs out of their system if they just got a chance to beyond Week 10. That's the story every year.

Do the math - they will have zero
SV-SLC(or Katy) =0 + Judson-Trinity=0

There was no way at all that Judson would beat Westfield (#10 in the nation, #2 in the State). We will see.

If the Trinity line and starting RB go out in the early 2nd Quarter, Judson has a very good chance to win this game.

Is this unique to 26-5? If so - probably should have kept it a secret - now everybody will be trying to do the same :p
It seems that after Grapevine scared SLC in district play they also improved a bit. With the rough-up from Plano - seems they may have another couple of weeks of toughness in them as well.
Katy is already packing their lockers. Region three is obviously enough based on the posts here. I think Katy is far more focused on SV than on anything beyond that unlike some on this board. This should be a truly classic game with two teams that are VERY similar in style and philosophy. Katy/SV should be a war. I feel good that Katy got its flat game over with a win. SV's flat game resulted in a loss but was earlier in the year. At least we've both gotten it out of our system now. We well remember that game in Bobcat stadium in San Marcos. SV got to Katy early and they werent prepared for that. Now we know it can be done even down 18 late in the 3rd. So my call is that this game is even up. I predicted that Katy would have to come back in the 4th quarter against Falls with a last second score to win. That showed me they can take a hit and keep on ticking. Should be a good game with a class SV team that embodies execution on the field just like Katy. Looking forward to a class match-up even though the weather is likely to be cold and wet. Winner will prove they are the best of the south and worthy of a shot at the north.

Unfortunately for a great district, the answer is they probably won't have any.
Judson will be equal to Trinity's size and strength but does not have the offensive firepower to keep up with them on the scoreboard.
Smithson Valley should beat an slow, unimaginitive Katy team, but does not have the defense to slow Southlake Carrol at all...

I'm not so sure strake Judson defense sure did an amazing job against an extremely talented team in westfield........and the do have a bag of prayers that the carry around with them..:D That D-1 game is going to be a good. Judsons defense should be fine. Maybe there offense is what I would worry about.
And as for Katy game it will be good......Im glad Im going.....BUt I think SV will win! Dont get mad a me KATY fans im just a fan and thats what these boards are for!!!!:D

Teams on a roll always seem to find a way... I don't know much about Judson. Came to my conclusion based on the Westfield-Baytown Lee game I attended. Lee (1-8) never came close to stopping Westfield but they did move the ball pretty consistantly. That led me to believe Westfield was vulnerable defensively once they got into the later rounds of the playoffs against the more complete teams. Judson's offensive stats against Westfield (was it 5 first downs?) stood out to me as very low, in fact it was their defense that scored the winning td. Since Judson couldn't really move the ball on Westfield, I concluded they would have a difficult time scoring against Trinity. If Judson can hold Trinity to 14 or less like they did Westfield (who lost their QB in the 2nd quarter) then they'll probably find another way to get'er done... Just seems unlikely...

Judson had a lot more than 5 first downs because they ran for more than 200 yards.

I am confused. You said will 26-5 win 2 state titles AGAIN, when was the first time, in the last 15 years, (since the existence of Div II) only 2 times come to mind that the same region (much less district) achieved state title in the same year. (i know the Dallas area and east Texas have moved around some so there are two other I'm not certain about)

this year has been interesting and will be to the last second of the D2 state game. Judson got hated on this year and was thought to be down with a 6-4 regular season record. Judson plays with alot of heart and i beleive that is what led them to the victory over Westfield. I have no doubt that Judson could beat ET if they play with the same desire they did in the Westfield game. Should be a good game regardless. SV an Katy will be close i think. Both teams have alot of talent and awesome coaches. Coaches is what will make the difference and i think Hill is the better coach.

If its a rain filled day it will be low scoring a favor Judson I feel and all this talk about trinity's offensive line being big, well westfield had a pretty big line too. Even when westfield had their starting QB in there they didn't get a first down and I feel Westfield has a better team than Trinity come on lets face it , what Westfield had how many starter's back from that team last year? something like 14 returning starters that lost to Lee by 7pts in the title game and Judson came out a shut that high powered offense down to just 115yds total now that's a defense people. lets remember Westfield was pick to win by atleast 16 to 21 pts and they only scored one offensive td the whole game,,,,,,,Rockets will be tough if they come out and play like they did last week?????

The Rockets will be just fine against Trinity..As far as the defense is concerned they will do what theyve been doing all year long..On the otherhand the Offense will do, what needs to be done. If your a true Rocket fan, who know what Im talking about. When your the underdog all season long and dont get any respect from anybody that means u have to go earn it..Because remember..WE SHOULD NOT BE HERE..We have 4 losses..Rocket Pride is alive & well..Rocket Pride is very a powerful thing..Damn near magical..U know what I talking about....

Anyway, the Chronicle had them with 7 first downs. I'm not saying that's right, but haven't found a box score other than theirs...
Box Score
Westfield Judson
First Downs 9 14
Rushes-yards 32-74 46-207
Passing yards 39 11
Return yards 194 96
Passes 2-12-3 2-8-1
Punts 5-195 7-197
Fumbles-lost 1-1 0-0
Penalties-yards 7-60 9-75
I wish I had time of possession, Judson had the ball quite a bit longer than Westfield. I think the longest run from scrimmage was 21 yards.
Judson scored on its first two possesions, the last being at the end of the first quarter. When you figure Westfield went 3 and out on both of their 1st qtr possesions, time of possession was paramount in this game.
