Lighten up guys...

Bottom line - Tech was not near as good as Lonny stated - shocker for this board I know.

Tech had two wonderful wins - at home.
Tech should have lost a couple of games early - at least one, but didn't.
Tech was due against Texas - plain and simple.

I like Tech - and like the Tech posters here - but, this was pretty much a one and done on the national scope for Tech - plain and simple.
1. The Texas game has nothing to do with being due. Tech is good enough to beat anybody in Lubbock. It won't always happen, but they're a strong threat to do so. Texas would've lost in 2006 if it weren't for a lot of hook and crook.
2. The game that Tech won that they probably should've lost was Nebraska. You typically see somewhat of a balance where you lose one that you should win and that was Ole Miss. The difference between the games was one was at home and it was also the game in which Tech didn't commit a turnover. Ole Miss got Tech with big plays, while the Corn slowly gashed them.
3. I never said Tech was the best team and I never thought that. Even if they had beaten OU, I was never comfortable that they were going to win the national title. I just wanted the ride to last as long as it could. Yeah, I felt like Tech was better than some teams like Penn State and Alabama, but I would've been concerned if they had played Texas again.
