Tis a clause. There is no sentence in which to place a "subject"

Further, if it were a sentence or even a complete title (i.e. without the ellipses) the "and" joins the TWO subjects.
And of course I am first, ladies always go first (men just float along in the heavenly wake they leave behind)

Maths as in the British usage. Fractions of yards of linen represented as a decimal when originally measured as square inches.

Here, I'll show you.

One yard of linen that is 55 inches wide is 1980 square inches. My computer will tell you I am in the "hole" on quantity when I sell say 400 square inches of fabric, even with multiple units of measure turned on and programmed. Today I finally found the solution. When fabric is received into the system, it is represented as simply...the total number of yards. There is a chart on the cutting table that shows the total square inches in said yard. (Some are 43 inches wide, some are 51 inches wide, ad nauseum.) Are you following here? Well, first you must determine what size piece of fabric the customer wants. Easy. First you find the stitch count. Number of stitches length- and width-wise. Then you divide this by the number of threads per running inch of the fabric (the thread-count). You will come up with say a measurement of the design that is 14 x 14 inches. You must allow for framing so you add 6 inches to both the length and width of the design. length+6 inches x width+plus six inches. In this case the total is 20x20. 400 square inches.

NOW...you must represent this as a decimal percentage of a yard. So in this case you divide 400 by the total number of inches (1980) and the answer is .202 yards of fabric.

THAT is the quantity you must enter into the computer so your inventory value does not go tens of thousands of dollars below Zero.

We could just have a wines and forget the maths.....

I just want credit for remembering it well enough to type it out here tonight.

This has caused no end of trouble with the inventory. I have one piece of fabric (of which there was only ever ONE yard) which has a negative inventory value of $14,000!!!!!

:Censor:

I should have used column paper and a Number 2 pencil, I swear.

I don't trust ME to post things correctly anymore....

Seriously, this crap with the fabric has been driving me nuts! And the only other business owner (in my line of work) that I know who uses a computer inventory and point of sale system refuses to custom cut fabric for her customers. She makes them buy the next nearest 1/4 yard of fabric!

NOW I KNOW WHY!!!

But, I also knew there was a simple () solution, if I just kept at it long enough. I did not want to make customers buy double the amount of fabric they need in order to make my inventory easier to deal with. I'm glad I figured it out. I'll pat myself on the back for this one.
