Sure would like for someone to mouth off about how Round Rock ISD Stadium or Tully can't accommodate all of the fans, and because of that Region 265 has no class, and because of that we will get grass stains on our britches, and because of that our team wont be use to playing in front of so few people and because of that did I mention the Class thing?
Lufkin v SLC is fun to watch on the board but I sure feel like we are left out over here in Region 265.

By the way, why would Judson choose to play in such a small stadium as Round Rock. Euless Trinity won't be able to bring all of their fans with them. Why wouldn't Judson agree to play in Texas Stadium where there is plenty of room for everyone? Your coach is being selfish and bit thinking about the fans.

That does amaze me because both Tully and Round Rock Stadiums are about the same size and maybe smaller than SFA.
I think Katy, Smithson Valley, Converse Judson and Euless Trinity all have a BIG fan base following their teams, just like Lufkin and Southlake.
Why is it such a problem for Southlake?

It was not the same situation so stop comparing them. It is not a rule that is broken, but Lufkin did not consider anyone but themselves in making their decision, which is allowed but not what I thought the Lufkin program wanted to teach their kids.

What is truly funny is Pack-Fan shows up and post at 1:56pm it only took Dragon-Fan 5 minutes to hunt down Pack-Fan over here running his mouth and post a reply. Now this thread will become a Pack/Dragon thread as all the other purple clad and Green clad folks will be soon to follow.

I was kind of disappointed that the A&M Consolidated v. Euless Trinity game when it was announced that the game would be played at Waco ISD stadium given we had played in some bigger venues this fall:
Reliant Stadium v. Aldine Eisenhower
Kyle Field v. Bryan
Bowers Stadium (SHSU) v. THe Woodlands
Texas Stadium v. Richardson Berkner
However, the atmosphere at Waco ISD was fun and a great experiece for the semi-final game. It was our third game at Waco ISD this fall as we also played Waco High and Pflugerville in the stadium.

Express-News reported that there were under 6,000 total fans yesterday at the Judson/Westfield game.
Pathetic.

The paper said 4,850. I am very surprised as there was overflow in the end-zones. I guess I'm not surprised about school districts not being able to achieve thier athletic budgets. They must have given away 7-8000 tickets for this game because that stadium holds a hell of a lot more 6,000 folks. By the start of the third quarter the WF side was 3/4 full too. I don't get it. Anyway, whoever wanted to be at the game was there.

I am sure Judson will have another good turnout next weekend.

Turn the tables, I think it is selfish for SLC to expect Lufkin to go to Texas Stadium and play in your backyard.
Shooter, I made a reasonable comment in response to your post, nothing out of line and you respond like a jerk face.
Good luck to all the other teams next weekend.

Not tryin' to be a smart a$$ or anything, but the statement about Lufkin only thinking of themselves when they picked SFA. I would say that is pretty smart. Any edge you can get, especially with a program like SLC is one you better not pass on. I seriuosly doubt that Outlaw even gave that any thought. If that was the case he might have chosen a much smaller venue. all I can say is get there early.

honestly, im just as sick as anyone about southlake fans complaining. Does anyone remember in '02 having to go to Abilene to play Cooper? What about '03 when we had to play at UTA in that tiny away side, when arlington barely filled up their HUGE side? We've been spoiled these past couple of years playing at TS so much, and at Floyd Casey. Back in the day, we used to love traveling and filling up those small stadiums and making some noise. Im excited for this, the atmosphere will be great. So what if people have to sit on the grass, im excited. Just like the good ol days....

why is it selfish to pick a stadium that is big enough to fit everyone? The stadium happens to be close by, but that was not the main reason that Texas Stadium was chosen. There are plenty of Stadiums closer that could have been chosen if that was the main reason.

agreed...why would anyone expect lufkin to travel 4 hours, when the opposition can do it instead

That right there sums it up best I think. Those fans that have followed and supported their teams alls eason will have no problem going where ever they have to go to continue following and supporting them. I would be willing to bet that most of the complaints are coming from those who didn't start following or supporting their team until the playoffs started. A true fan will go where ever he or she must to support their team.

Farris holds just under 10k that includes the overflow
You have to eliminate 2 sections for the Bands and pep squads and your down to about 8k for fans.

The thread was started tongue in cheek, I'm not feeling left out I was only poking fun at Pack/Dragon fans going at each other over the Stadium thing, and nothing but "your team is good but I think we will win." comments coming from the Katy, SV, Judson and Trinity crowd. I thought your comment was tongue in cheek as well. I thought you were only razing me the same way i was razzing you so my response was Tongue in cheek for sure.
Lighten up Pack-fan it's just Football it's not like its UIL One-Act play or something important. <--- that is tongue in cheek if you need help!

Its not Region 265, its Region 4 District 265 (26-5A);)
I was shocked when I was told we would play at Round Rock because I had never heard of a State Championship game being played at a HS stadium. It doesn't bother me though, because we played at Farris and I think its smaller than round rock.

I have to agree with you; it's not that Round Rock is a bad stadium - the photos I've seen are of a first class facilty - but I expected a 5A championship game to be played at a more high profile venue. That said, the atmostphere should be fantastic and fitting of a championship game.

Taft played a DI championship game at Alamo a few years ago that's a high school stadium....
Fox really does not care where you play it as long as there is a place to plug in a few extension cords and someone gives them free hotdogs.
I don't understand why everyone makes such a big deal out of the stadium for a Championship game. The rules are the same for Week 1 of the playoffs till the end you flip home and home or you play Neutral. If you play Neutral both Coaches have to agree. It's that simple. UIL does not list off stadiums that can and can not be used. Fox does not sit in a meeting with the coaches saying things like "WE'RE NOT GOING TO SFA or ROUND ROCK!" The coaches do the something they do every week, if FOX wants to be there they will call ahead to the stadium and make arrangements.
I just can’t figure out where this notion that a Championship game has to be played in a Dome or a Big College Stadium came from

Shooter calm down.
I wasn't knocking the venue. Everythiiing I have said on this thread has been tongue in cheek. I could care less where playoff games are played. Heck, they could play them on the practice field at one of the schools for all I care. Except then, I would have to bring my lawn chair and I certainly wouldn't launch a 18 page thread over it.

Why doesn't UT and A&M allow games on their fields anymore? Is it because of the natural grass now? It's not like they are using them anymore. Maybe they charge too much to use them?
I can remember going to many state championship games in Austin as a teenager although most were smaller classifications. My dad didn't want to fight the 5A crowds.:)
