View Full Version : Can Anyone Bust the Oddsmaker on Katy/Smithson Valley?

I see it as a high scoring game. SV hasn't really shut down any of the better teams they've played and Katy certainly looks vulnerable on defense as well...

Smithson Valley should be about a 4 point favorite... Setting the over/under at 57.

Anyone care to make a pretend wager against my lines?

(this is just for fun, gambling on high school sports is illegal)

You are so generous!
I'll take Katy +4

If I win you have to buy and share a dinner with Fleeman93.
If I lose I will march for 1 hour in Katy red in front of Strake Jesuit with an I love Strake sign.

Two stipulations though. You have to walk in front of KATY HIGH if you lose, and me and the FLEA don't have to eat off the same plate...

Alright rookie. Katy looks vulnerable on Defense??? They have only given up an avg. of 11 points per in 13 games. That's 9.4 per game in the regular season and 12.5 points per game in the post season. They have only had double digits scored on them in 4 0f 13 contests. What's vulnerable about that? And don't give me the Cy Falls response. We played a bad game. They played a good game. And Katy was still the best at their worst.

Smilin... I predicted CyFalls would score 26 BEFORE the game last week using more than statistical analysis... Fleeman took issue with it based on simple statistical analysis like you have. I thought CyFalls might be a bit quicker and the astroturf at Rice would make that more of an advantage...

This week I believe the offenses of BOTH teams will be able to drive the ball consistantly. If you think about it, Katy's D gave up 3-5 yards on straight ahead rushing plays most of the time against CF. Not until it became obvious that CyFalls was just trying to get the game over did Katy bring up enough in the box to stop their running. The word on SV is that they are disciplined and methodical. I just see them having good success against the defense I saw last week, especially if they can pass efficiently... We'll see...

Fleeman93 won't have any part of it. So if I lose I'll march for 1 hour in front of Katy with an I love Strake sign and If you lose, you march for 1 hour in front of Strake with an I love Katy sign.

Marching has to be done before th D2 championship game. Agreed?

I don't care for anything jesuit so I wouldn't want to be in the same restaurant with jesuitdrake, much less eat at the same table. Sorry to kill your bet but that just isn't going to fly.

I am open to sugesstions StrakeDrake. The bet seems pretty harmless, just a little humiliating.

I have 2 daughters. My oldest graduated in 04 and she did video for Coach Johnston and has 2 rings(1 for state, 1 for the NFL). My youngest is a junior and does the video for coach Joesph.

The NFL ring came when coach Johnston was allowed to take his crew with him to represent Team USA when the SuperBowl was in Houston. I believe only 1 Tiger player was on that team. Lucky for me the NFL paid for that ring.

Okay, how about this... You're betting on Katy to beat my line of Smithson Valley (-4)... Sometime in the weeks following the game the loser must treat the winner and one of their kids to dinner at a good, but reasonably priced restaurant... I figure if we each brought a kid we'd have enough to chat about that we'd easily make it through dinner, plus, it'll give us a chance to meet no matter how the game turns out... What ya think?

I'll agree to that but the loser also has to drive around for a week with a window flag of the other school. I'll lend you my Katy window flag and you provide 1 if I lose.

Will you agree to that?

Will you agree to that?Yeah, I'll agree to that except I don't even know if Strake Jesuit has those yet? No matter, I'll do it. I have such an ugly, rusty, bucket of bolts of a car I'll keep the Katy flag flying on it all year if you'd like. :)

We're on!
