Thats is one great stadium. How many people usually go to Dallas Carter or Dallas Kimbell football games? Are they really loyal?, because both teams are in a slump right now.

I was wondering the same thing. We were actually passing by that the other day, coming home from TCU, when we noticed how far away that was from inner city Dallas. Are these guys going to fill up the stadium if it is so far away from inner city Dallas, or are the schools actually close to the stadium?

Even if neither of them have doing that great lately in football. The prospect of havign a new stadium will bring some who don't normally come out on Frday nights to the game. Its the got to say you've been there syndrome. I like the old school split stands. You don't see that too much anymore.

Carter is located just across I-20 from the new stadium. It will be like playing in their backyard for them. However, Kimball is a few miles away just North of Ledbetter, but probably the second closest DISD school to the stadium.

How in the world can you say Dallas Carter is in a slump? They went undefeated two years ago losing a heartbreaker in the playoffs (team they lost to has slipped my mind) Carter has been on the rise in the last few years, and as the gurus on this site have stated, they have a heck of a chance to go pretty deep in the playoffs this year
As for Kimball, they have been a playoff team in 4A for a while and they to have advanced pretty far in the playoffs, so I have no idea where you got the notion that those two teams are in a slump, if anything they are both on the rise.

As far as distance from Dallas, Carter is not a innercity school, they are within 5 miles from Cedar Hill, DeSoto and Duncanville, and that area of SW Dallas produces more D1 athletes than any area in the state. I wish that Carter would be alinged into a district with Duncanville and DeSoto, if that ever happend I think i would make it a point to never miss a district track meet.

That team they lost to was Leander :D. 11-9 was the final score of that game, it was the sloppiest game i've ever seen, it basically came down to special teams, and the Lions special teams were better that day. And from what i can remember, their fans outnumbered our fans probably about 2:3. We had mostly just people from Leander and Cedar Park supporting us. They brought their allum, the parents of the kids, and the entire inner city dallas area along with them.

its too bad they didnt have this done last year, cuz then Garland would have been able to play there.

You call 12 - 1, 11 - 1, and 10-2 records over the past 3 years by Dallas Carter is a SLUMP?

Actually...the Jesse Ownes Stadium/Arena is carter's new home field, however, Carter will share the stadium with the other DISD schools. Carter Is literally acroos the bridge from the complex...we used to run that route for track practice...it's only 1.5 miles away from 1819 Wheatland Rd.

I am extremely excited about the complex.
As for the statement about Carter being in the same district as DeSoto and Duncanville, I too, would like to see it happen. That would be one of the tougher distrcicts in the state.

Carter and Kimball are in no way in a slump....5A Div II region II is arguably the toughest route to state...

and Kimball is now destined it seems, to face Ennis in the first round....

Two good schools approaching success, they've hit the humps and I think that either of the two are poised to get over that hump in the near future.

as for Carter fan base, we are one of the few "inner-city" schools that have a supportive crowd...Lincoln and Kimball are not to be excluded.

and Carter is an inner city school....1819 W Wheatland Rd is very much in Dallas city limits...we are close to Desoto, but not quite there....

truly looking foward to this season!

I'm curious...I have some friends that live in downtown Dallas on Commerce Ave.

Where do those kids go to high school at?

Highland Park?

Highland Park is not a DISD school, so they wouldn't go there...

Downtown Dallas is split. Half goes to Madison High, the other half go to North Dallas High. I believe Commerce Ave. falls in Madison High attendance zones. They wouldnt go to Highland Park. The HPISD is bordered by the Central Expressway on the East, the Tollway on the West, Northwest Hwy. on the North and it doesnt extend South of Avondale Ave. It might be possible for somebody who lives in the Northern part of Uptown to be in the HPISD, but not downtown.

LLion, How do you know that they brought their allum, their parents of the kids, and the entire inner city of dallas with them???? Where you taking a poll out in the parking lot that day. But if that is the case, Carter brought their fans. Their fan base just out- numbered Leander's fan base.
If you remember correctly, the wind was blowing extremely hard on that day. And that effected both teams. By the way, did yall make the playoffs last year.

Actually, the year that they won state and the year after, Carter were in the same district as Desoto, Duncanville, Grand Prairie, SGP, and Kimball.
