I first must say that I was wrong on my prediction of this game and did not have enough confidence in the Rockets, that they could win this game. I was just thinking back to the regular season this year , But I failed to take inpart how well they had been playing the last 5 five weeks. Today Judson looked like Rocky alot smaller not as strong but a will to win that was to much for westfield to over come.
Like that old saying if there is a will there's a way and Judson found a way to beat a very good westfield team. It just seem Judson's defense was all over them even when westfield had ther starting QB in there and that's how he got hurt he was hit by two Judson defender's at the same time one high and one low and that knocked him out of the game, I had flash back today of the 83 semi-final game with Judson beating Yates very similar situation. When you looked at it on paper it was how could Judson even come close, but know measures a team's will to win. Way to go Rockets to me today's game was like winning the state title, good luck next week I'll be there.

I was sitting with some guys that I played with and we all went to the Churchill game together this year and after that game we just could not believe how bad the Rockets looked and we saw them play today and we were just shocked how different they looked we could not get over it we were like is this the same team? Judson today looked like the Judson that I knew when I was there way to get after it today and keep it up great job coach Rackley on getting those boys back on track.

Or you could look at it like a Cedric Comer and 96 North Shore, only to get a steamrolling team in the finals.
To Judson congrats, you still remain the true legend in 5A football, however I must go with the metroplex team and cheer on the Trinity Trojans, we could have flashbacks to 96 this saturday :D lonny that smilie was just for you

A razz would've been fitting. I see this week as being more like one of those other 5 times we won on the field.

on the field, see I like that. No matter the cirumstances of 1988 I just want you and the rest of the Rocket faitfull to know how much I respect your program and tradition. Trust me when I say this, beating Judson for a title was what put Lewisville on the map, we had been successfull before, but beating a program like Judson is what will get you recognized. I wish I could pull for Judson, however I have to stay true to my metroplex and "rushing the football" roots, so go Trinity. But congrats to the Rockets for overcoming much adversity and making a title game when no one outside of Bexar County thought you would.

The numbers have aligned and this is why I'm picking this number. I have made 2 bets in the last month and this will be the 3rd one, which is perfect unity with God. This game will be played on the 10th (which I declared as Judson Day and put on the forum calendar earlier in the week before the Westfield Game) and that is also a perfect number. This will be Judson's 10th title game and comes 3 years after their last title. They are playing for their 7th title and I've been coming up 7's lately to include sitting in booth 7 listening to the game for 2 straight weeks (I'll request a 3rd week!), hitting post 7777 yesterday, and paying 7 dollars to listen to the game today. Oh yeah, the 3 title game losses are perfectly fine with me as long as it stays that way. They will be the 3rd team to win 7 titles!
My bet is whoever loses doesn't post for 7 days!

No problem. I don't hold grudges. It will be the 3rd bet I've won. The first 2 were Reaganrattler07 (Redskins88) in the Reagan game, SeguinMatadors in the Seguin game, and the Trinity game with you.

ahh but you are not going up against those podunk region 4 teams ;) , this is region one baby we bring the heat :D
This should be a classic and I look forward to being the one who knocked lonny off his pedistool and returned this board to normalcy :D

Let's see:
Midland Lee
Permian
Midland
Plano
Trinity
We LIKE Region 1!:p
OK, we also lost to Lewisville and Duncanville, but 5-2 isn't bad.

you beat Plano when they were region 2. as well as a very mediocre Trinity team in a year when you got blasted by Division 2 champ Temple.
Trinity should be more of a challenge than the 5 loss team they were in 92. Like I said it is a honor to do a bet with you and I look forward to this state title game.

I was at that Churchill game and couldnt believe what I saw either...But Judson had issues at that time and now have gelled at the perfect time..DO you know Westfield didnt get a first down until the second quarter and I think thats when Beasley got hurt on that run..SW couldnt believe what was going on..Our offense finally did what the Defense needed..
