Allen fans - remember all those yards Mckissic was piling up? He did it on a broken leg. We sure witnessed some truly special quarterback play on both sides of the ball on that windy December afternoon at Floyd Casey.

Austin American-Statesman:
McKissic finished career with broken leg
By Danny Davis | Monday, December 29, 2008, 02:15 PM
Stony Point senior quarterback Nyk McKissic played the final eight games of his career with a broken leg, Tigers head coach Craig Chessher confirmed to the American-Statesman in an e-mail on Monday. McKissic suffered a broken fibula, an injury that was sustained in a 24-14 win over McNeil on Oct. 17.
McKissic, who was cleared to play after the injury was discovered after the first round of the playoffs, led Stony Point to the state semifinals where the Tigers lost 23-21 to Allen, the eventual Class 5A, Division I champion. In the eight games following the McNeil game, McKissic accounted for 1,201 yards of offense, 219 of which were rushing yards, and 13 total touchdowns.
For a second straight year, McKissic was a second-team selection at the quarterback position to the annual All-Central Texas football team.

I went to that game. I never noticed any signs of an injury. Anyone know what quarter he sustained the injury?

What a warrior. The kid is one hell of a football player that leaves it all on the field every game for his teammates. He lead the Tigers from the basement of football to the top. The best part about him is not only is he a great football player, he is an even better young man. Thanks for the ride Mr. McKissic.

Nick was limping around in every playoff game I saw this year. I was clear something was wrong but I thought it might be his knee or ankle. He was moving much better in the Garland game but was still lacking some speed. The young man is amazing and as an outsider I have totally enjoyed watching him play. Hopefully the injury will heal on it's own without surgery and he will go on to play more at the next level. I know Gilbert has the stats and titles but if I had first pick in starting my All Star team it would be Mr. McKissic.
First let me say that this young man is one tough kid and should be commended for truly "taking one for the team" in fact he took several for the team.. What a warrior.
I am very curious as to who made the choice to let him play after they knew what was wrong.. Because to me, the young mans health is first and foremost. I wouldn't want to jeopardize any part of his future and as a parent it just doen't seem worth the risk for a few games of high school football. His future health as a human being should be considered first, and above all else.

nobody had any idea he broke his leg until the week leading up to the first playoff game. we did notice him limping a little but we didnt think it was that big of a deal. he's not the fastest guy any way so it was hard to judge if he was going any slower. it just showed how much he wanted to play and try to win a state championship

Hopefully all mends well. That kid is an operator, I had a hard time following the ball. He is the cog in the wheel that makes their ground game go. And to play through that injury shows how much of a competitor he is. Garners alot of respect.
