Ima Cove fan, its a simple fact SLC is better than any team! And i know that but i would have still hoped that Cove would have one and i would have cheered the whole game Cove is good but they arent the best, we will have our year soon but this year wasnt our year. Second half will start and the Lufkin band will start playing something that offends the SLC players. Coach Dodge will run to the refs and get no relief. The SL fans will storm the field but the band will start chanting something and freeze them in the tracks. Lufkin will get the ball while everyone is pre-occupied and score breaking the tie. The refs will run for their cars, UIL will call the game and Lufkin moves on to play another week. :D

It is going to be a good game for sure and I'd hate to have to live on the difference. True our starting QB is out but this team will make the difference up with heart. Too bad someone will have to lose, but the winner goes on and the other will talk about next year. It's the cycle.

Folks: Let's don't get into the smack-talk...at least not yet. We have two great teams that are going to meet next Saturday. SLC has advantages that Lufkin doesn't and Lufkin has a few things that SLC doesn't. They are just about a perfect match, otherwise they both wouldn't be going head-to-head.
Personally, I'd have to give SLC size, strength and coordination while Lufkin has a well harmonized defensive line and offensive speed. Two of the greatest teams are going to meet. No need to be upset over the stadium location - that choice has been made and it's out of our hands now.
Let's just concentrate on good sportsmanship and an attempt at a penalty-free game.
I do think that Lufkin has an advantage by playing SLC at the SFA Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches. It's purple (like Lufkin is) and it's only 20 minutes away. Not to mention that Lufkin has played there several times before and possibly has access to practice there this upcoming week due to the close proximity to Lufkin (speculation - not confirmation).
SLC Dragons - Good Luck to all of you and God Bless. May the better team win and to whoever loses....well, it's OK. Finishing within the top four out of all the state isn't nothing to worry about!

Looking forward to playing Lufkin once again. Wish their QB had not gone down with an injury. Like to see Lufkin at 100% when SLC comes to town. How far is SFA from Lufkin? It doesn't matter where the game is, I haven't seen fans when a game yet. SLC has been in big games where the other crowd is larger than ours. The key is to get to the lead early and take their fans out of it. Ask Abilene. There was a lot of noise in the third quarter but most of it was the sound of engines starting in the parking lot. Lufkin won't quit. We saw that last year when SLC raced to a nice halftime lead only to see Lufkin tie the game late. Hate that the game won't be seen by 35,000 or more, but that's the way the ball bounces.

I hate to see the SLC faithful gripe about the location of the game. To be truthful, we've been a bit spoiled. 04 we played every playoff game but Lufkin in TX Stad. Lufkin was at Baylor 1 1/2 hours away. This is a Texas state playoff game. Texas is a big state so someone is going to travel. As long as both sides get the same allotment for tickets, let's get it on.

All 4 teams left in D2 deserve to be there. Any one of Lufkin, SLC, Katy and SV will be worthy State Champions. 3 are undefeated, with SV losing 1. I cannot pick a winner in either game as all 4 are great programs; with a great history and pedigree, with knowledgeable and very respectful fans.
