This is really old school but still counts. The kid kicking was the team's QB and the hc's son. Beeville bowed out in the Region 4 finals against Kerrville Tivy. Cool stuff.

that was cool. I wonder how many times he did it through out the season.

That's what they call "foot" ball! Neat! Where's my leather helmet? :D

Drop kicking is especially helpful in sixman football where if you don't do that then you have a six on four situation with a much closer edge than in eleven man. If you have a kicker that can drop kick you can put five on the line and it gives you better odds. When I coached sixman I had a kicker who could do it in practice all day but not in a game.

so, the ball has to touch the ground, before a field goal (or PAT) attempt in order for it to be legal?

Boss: What would be the reason for doing it in an 11-man game?

A drop kick can be attempted regardless of the down, and is worth 3 points. You bounce it off the ground then kick it, can only be attempted behind the line of scrimmage

I'm guessing to keep the threat of a fake fg pass open as a more realistic option. It's easier to run that fake and throw the football from the upright position than it is to take the snap, stand up, and then go through your reads. It seems as though it would keep the defense honest.
