So my buddy who is a huge Auburn fan happens to be in Atlanta right now. I just got off the phone with one of his cousins friends who happens to be a huge UGA fan. She was telling me about how she goes to the Mark Richt football camp for women or something like that.
Well we get to talking about UGA and I start going off on Mike Bobo.
She then responds to we love Mike Bobo and he is a great OC. She said that UGA would be stupid to let him go.
I laughed and told her to put my friend back on the phone since she knew nothing about football. I was then called an *** hole. I love it.

That is all.

It's not Richt. Its his freaking cordinators. Richt needs to get rid of those bozos quickly. Richt has been the best thing to happen to UGA since the Dooley left. He has turned in 5 10 win seasons, 2 SEC titles and won 2 BCS bowl games. Franny isnt even close to that.
Now if Richt is adament about keeping Bobo and Martinez then yes he should be shown the door.

True...Richt does pawn Franchione. But, then again, who doesn't?

This. I've dated girls that thought football was played with a bat. Any attractive girl that even knows what an offensive coordinator is would likely get a marriage proposal from me.

Mrs. Bird goes to games just for the FTAB. But, I've got her hooked on baseball. It's her favorite sport. She just really likes the laid back vibe, the grass, to watch everything that is going on on the field.

I'm dedicating next Friday's bottle of Vodka to the Bird family. Freaking awesome man.
I've had some fun attending games at Olsen. Great environment.

I like games at Olsen better than games at Kyle. Maybe it is just the quality of what you see on the field, though. Olsen really is the best of Aggieland. The place needs a bit of a facelift, although that kinda adds to the charm. Plus, you get some of the most knowledgable fans out there to watch the games. The diehard Aggie baseball guys know their stuff.

The Raggies crack me up. Some of their stuff can get old but for the most part its great. I love to watch the opposing teams coaches and players react to them.
I tdont think they need a facelift for Olsen at all. I like it the way it is now. Just a good old time ballpark and feel to it.

I can appreciate a love for college baseball. Hell, I'd buy Ranger season tickets and go to 80 games a year for the right woman.

It's because the football experience has become a contrived characterature of it's former self. The old people remember what things used to be like and try and force it. The young people have head about the way gameday used to be and they try and force it. Your left with most of the stadium doing stupid stuff for no other reason than it used to be done. It's become a joke and is often attended by people who don't care all that much about the game.

Baseball is different. You have to love the game just to be there. Baseball is not enough of a social even that it's going to draw a few thousand a game unless those people really care about the sport or those playing it. Face it, people aren't going to spend a few hours in the sun watching what is really a boring and slow-paced sport unless they have some kind of interest in it.

Actually, I really think it is because the football team has been pretty damned crappy. When the Ags are playing well, there is no place like Kyle Field. I was in the middle of the student section for the Texas game last year and it's something neither Mrs. Bird or I will ever forget.

You bring back the wrecking crew, you bring back the Aggies playing football well on national TV on a Saturday night, and things will come right on back. Unfortunately, I will probably have moved by the time that happens. :(

Doesn't matter where you are on a Saturday in America, you will find LOTS of people who don't really care about the game. Crowds of 75,000 plus will tend to have that element. You give the folks who do care something to cheer about, and the rest will come along.

That's true of everywhere. Okie Lite gets loud and raucous for big games when they are good too. Outside of Miami, most teams that are great have great gameday atmospheres. You don't hear too many pimping the atmospheres at Iowa State or Indiana.
