That was close! Whew! Plano had the momentum several times. They played a cover two superbly and kept our long ball out of the game plan. WE/I knew Mac was due for a INT. Today It happened. 3 times! One outright, 2 tips. But again it was the defense that won it for us. Every championship team has one game in the playoffs they won but should not have. Thats what makes a champion. I don't know it this was that game or not but Plano did a great job of playing THEIR game. I just hope we don't see another team as good a PLANO, in the playoffs...thoughts????

Every year SLC has had a close game or two in the playoffs. The first year it was Arlington Sam Houston

Next it was Abilene.

This year it is Plano -

Lufkin is also there lurking around the corner.

Turning point was the 3rd and 10 for Carrol at the Plano 28 or so when QB stumbled and came within a inch or two of being sacked for a 10 yard loss he kept his balance and fired a 20 yard pass for a first down. You guys score 2 plays later get a 2 point conversion and its 27-24 Plano. Not saying Plano would of won but it would of been a bigger cliffhanger going into the 4th quarter.

that is EXACTLY what i have been saying.

it was roughly a 30 yard pass to a WIDE open riley dodge. a critical 3rd down, plano should've had the sack. mcelory managed to stay up and deliver it to dodge. that changed the game

Certainly was a great game today. Both teams proved why they were in the play-offs. It's just a shame that Plano kind of ran out of steam into the 4th quarter.

What was up with the SLC QB #17 constantly looking to the sidelines for coaching several times on every single play? It was like he had severe short term memory loss and couldn't remember what play they were going for? Is he always like that or was it just in today's game. I mentioned it to my husband, and then he started watching the QB too, and saw exactly what I was talkng about. He was within 2-3 seconds of a delay of game penalty on most of his plays.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed that at all?

Yeah it might be becasue he is getting reads from the coach on what play is supposed to be run. If you look, every WR and player looks also. They do it every play.

I couldn't tell if that was Michael Vick or McElroy on that play. He escaped a sack like 3 times, and then fired a perfect ball.

which leads me to this question, do they have head sets? because they all look up at the SAME time, its in perfect time, it looks so cool and i wonder how they do it

I think one disadvantage to a no huddle was seen today at TS. The crowd was so loud that the O line couldn't hear what Mac was saying while lined up. I think it mad the O look sloppy today. Anyone else notice that?

I thought Plano played a great game and I was proud of our fan support, as usual. In the first half, I thought Plano had the best defense and SLC the best offense. In the second half, the adjustments that SLC’s defense made swung the balance in their favor. Again, I’m proud of Plano. I do not believe that they “played above their heads” today as one of the SLC fans stated. They are a really good team.

At the same time, I do not believe that “SLC won one today that they should not have.” SLC deserved to win, no excuses!

Great game to both teams and its fans. Your communities have plenty to be proud of.
To Plano, welcome home, its good to see the Wildcats making noise in the playoffs, and I think it is hear to stay.
To the Dragons and its fans, all I have to say is you continually to defy the meaning of "heart of a champion" you guys were awesome in the clutch. This was truly a dream matchup to witness, the atmosphere was electric and is what makes the Texas HS football playoffs the greatest show on earth.
Bring home another title to the metroplex Dragons, you guys deserve it.
