Those are all white people names.

And people want to say Mexicans are having the most babies. I don't see no Juans or Jose's in there.

That's not how it works. Those are not the actual most popular names but rather the names that recieved the most "hits" on the baby-naming website. The reason it is all white people names is simple-- no Mexican is neurotic enough to seek advice from teh internets when naming a child.

They seem pretty normal. I remember a few years ago there were some weird ones on the list. What ever happened to Josh, Justin, James? Now it's all their weird Jayden names and crap.

My son's name is still on the list - has been for a long time. One of my daughter's middle name is on there - but she was named after her great-great grandmother so that's an old one. A lot of these are old, graceful names. Not something off of a wine bottle (I knew someone who was drinking Andre cold duck and decided to name her son D'Andre:D).

Mine and my sister's names went out of popularity in the 60's!

There are some real clunker names in there, but this list isn't quite as horrible as most years are. Many parents curse their kids for life with horrible names, and I'm not just talking about the Beulah's and Bessie's. Many parents give their kids names that are tied to bad characteristics and traits, but I also surmise that the kids have those names because of the inherent flaws of the parents.

Personally, I think everybody should at a minimum see the meaning of a name before they give it to the kid. Saying that name unleashes things in kids. It's just like a kid will have problems if their parents are always saying, "Hey :Censor:head come here!"

That yuppie crap is all the rage and I hate it. I have a bunch of rules for naming kids, and one of the one's at the top is to not name them after cities and states. Parents think they're cool, but the names stink. I wouldn't name a kid "Austin" or "Madison" if you were going to shoot me. I don't go for "Apple" either. I sure wouldn't name a kid Jayden and I hate all the goofy spellings of a normal phonetic word. It's not cool or catchy. It's stupid. I gave my kids normal names that meant good qualities and I also gave them names where they don't have a bunch of kids with the same name. Besides, my oldest daughter gets to see her name a lot this time of the year!:D I looked on the internet and I looked in a book with 20K names and I wrote my list down and all I had to do was plug and play names from there. I also made sure the middle name flowed with the first name.

I always need to ask the internet before I choose which Christian saint to name my child after....;)

Seriously, the baby names have gotten absurd. It's time to go back to using the church calender to choose the baby name.

Our son (now 4 months old) was named Caleb, for his and Joshua's (my name) story in the Bible. Had no idea it was such a popular name this year.
