Well, the guys at nationalchamps.net think the South will once again dominate the Big 12 and be players nationally:

3. Texas
4. Oklahoma
6. Oklahoma State
14. Texas Tech

OU losing to much, and if OSU's defense makes a step up, they should win the south.

The early picks also don't take into account which players might declare for the draft, either.

Mobilhoma and Techlahoma should be a good deal lower. Texas will be the undisputed favorite in the Big XII next year.

As well as the final #1.

I think Florida will be #1. They should return something like 18 starters off a national championship team.

Im seriously starting to think that you failed to develop a brain during your mothers pregnacny.

Your hate of all things UT is evident.

Texas Returns a Secondary and a LB core that helped muffle some of the nations most prolific offenses...Almost the entire offense returns.

Big 12 favorite= TEXAS

I agree with this, and OSU and Baylor will be better.

Tech is going to have its work cut out in order to stay in contention in the South...

People predicting Tech to drop to the bottom of the division are forgetting that Leach's teams have never been about individuals. The system produces all those yards, remember?;):D

I'll take the thought of Texas being number 1...but on the whole, what's ya'lls opinion of the North??? How will that shape up next year??? Will Nebraska turn it around? Mizzou???

Mizzou will plummet. Hawkins seems to think Colorado will win 10 games next year. Apparently he has a contact high from living in Boulder. I say the North is Nebraska's with Kansas and Colorado battling closely for second.

Hawk will just keep pumpin' the pump, brother.

I am extremely upset that his blog has kinda tapered off.

I like Hawk a lot, but his son is as inconsistent a QB as I have seen in a long time and his O-line is horrible. I think they'll be a solid bowl team, but not 10 wins.

So, they lose to Mizzou (who essentially starts over, almost everywhere) and beat Tejas (who essentially returns the bulk of an elite team - especially offensively)??

I would really like to know what games you're watching. 2 years ago, Texas beat the Baptists 63-31. Texas has routed Baylor every single game, home or away, for a decade. Texas has won every game against Baylor by at least 21 since '98. Texas returns the bulk of a team that beat Baylor 45-21 this year.

And the "location" thing is a joke. Anybody will Tell you that when Texas plays in Waco, Texas fans outnumber Baylor fans 2-1. It's a mini home game for the Horns.

Tech will not be ranked in the preseason polls IMO...if they are ranked at some point in the season, I don't see them getting any higher than #23. I hope they prove me wrong, but other teams in the Big XII are stepping it up, and I just see it as a long shot for us to be consistent enough with these good teams...at least with all of the players we are losing.

I think they'll be ranked in the preseason polls, but it certainly wont be in the top 10. I think they'll be ranked about 20 or so and that is if Crabtree returns.

I can see that...Potts and Crabtree will be good, but we are losing most of our star players and O-Line which leads me to think that we will could be very well be an average 7-5 team coming out of the Big XII...which usually does not warrant a spot in the final rankings.

But yeah, I guess I can see the voters giving us a preseason ranking with Crabtree returing.

Apparently Baptists count 32 point losses as "almost wins". That would mean they have almost won national championships as well.

I'm trying to temper my expectations. Don't wanna get disappointed.

Baylor gets most of their points in the 4th quarter when Sherman puts in the new "All-12th Man" 5th string. It will consist entirely of Aggie dance team members clad in spandex shorts and maroon pasties.

Aggy goes 4-8 next year... they start the season 3-0... go on 4 game losing streak... wins 1 game... ends season on another 4 game losing streak...

OU losing to much, and if OSU's defense makes a step up, they should win the south.

Unless you know something we don't, OU doesn't really lose much. They'll have issues replacing almost the entire o-line, but there are guys ready to step in the will be good players.

That being said, Texas will be the favorite in the South, and OSU could actually finish 2nd.

You lose your entire offensive line and your top 2 WRs. You'll also probably lose Gresham and there is a healthy chance you'll lose Bradford. Even if they stay though, you still lose 7 starters right there. You also lose both starting safeties off a bad secondary.
