Time to "Seize The Day". A "modified" quote for all of my Rocket fans:
"Great moments...............are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here, today, boys. That's what you've earned here today. One game. If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not today. Today, we run with them. Today, we stay with them. And we shut them down because we can! Today, WE are the greatest football team in the world. You were born to be football players. Every one of you. And you were meant to be here today. This is your time. Their time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearing about what a great football team Spring Westfield has. Screw 'em. This is your time. Now go out there and take it."

Not really rooting for 'em. What do the power polls say about the spread? And what was the score last year?

I'm just messing with you. Jerry says Westfield by 16 and Calpreps says Westfield by 5. Neither account for home field advantage, which should be greater than 3 points in the playoffs or the tradition of Judson. That stuff makes this game anywhere from a Judson victory to close defeat.
Last year was 28-14 in Houston. It was 21-0 at halftime. Westfield drove for 1 TD in the first half. They got the other 2 TD's off of an INT return and a short drive on a botched fake punt. They kept getting first downs on 3rd down late in the game when Judson was trying to come back.

I dont have a dog in this fight so normally i would root for the underdog. Its just hard to think of the Rockets as underdogs because of their great history. I forgot that they are playing in SA. Judson might pull it off.
Was the 6-4 regular season indicative of their strength or have they taken it to another level in the playoffs?

They went 6-4 because they had too many people hurt to win tough games against Cove, SV, Madison, and Churchill. They didn't adjust well to a new offense and went back to the old system that worked for years. They are just playing better now. I think they play their best game of the year against Westfield. They have the defensive talent to hold Westfield down and have good enough receivers to do damage there.
The Chronicle says LaMarque is playing Judson on the front page, so Westfield must've gotten scared!:p

Well I guess they have a puncher's chance. i think Westfield might be a little overrated. Not much-just a little. But I guess we'll see soon enough.
Man, I gotta get some sleep. Dang internet! Good luck to your Rockets, Lonny.

Westfield is not as hungry as last year. They've been pumped up for so long and just don't have the hunger. 2003 was supposed to be Judson's year and they won it all in 2002. This was supposed to be Westfield's year and they're just not playing the same.
I think if Westfield had that killer instinct, I would've seen it by now. They haven't shown me that they'll take care of business. It's almost like it's all too easy. Somebody told me that North Shore didn't have all this great talent the last 2 years like they're hyped up as having. I think it's going to be hard for Westfield to win the game and it won't be a blowout like most people say it will be.

The Judson Rockets are at their best when they're the Judson Rocky's. Remember the words to the song:
Trying hard now
It's so hard now
Trying hard now
Getting strong now
Won't be long now
Getting strong now
Gonna fly now
Flying high now
Gonna fly, fly, fly
Since we're talking about Judson Rockets, a little space pep talk is in order. The following is what Flight director Gene Kranz said to his flight controllers on the private com loop while Apollo 11 was still on the back side of the moon for the final time before the powered descent to the moon began.
"Hey gang., we're really gonna go and land on the moon today. This is no bull.... we're gonna to do something that no one has ever done. Be aware that there's a lot of stuff that we don't know about the environment we're about to walk into. But be aware that I trust you implictly. But I'm aware that we're all human. So somewhere along the line, if we have a problem, be aware that I'm here to take the heat for you. I know that we're working in an area of the unknown that has high risk. But we don't even think of tying this game, we think only to win., and I know you guys, if we've got a few seconds to work your problem, we're gonna' win. So let's go have at it, gang....Lock the doors." (no one would leave or enter the Mission Control room until after the Eagle had either landed, aborted, or crashed).
Or, put in other words
Let's win this game!! HEY! HEY!
To save our name!! HEY! HEY!
From disgrace and shame! HEY! HEY!

Can Someone give me a summary of the game

u want a summary........
the hugely favored Westfield wilted like a flower in a Texas summer drought.....the Judson defense was absolutely studly. I didnt go to the game, I listened to it on the radio. I missed the kick return for a TD...so basically the Judson defense only gave up 1 TD. They knocked out the starting QB and the backup QB led Westfield to their only offensive score. The Judson D forced several turnovers, including a fumble that was returned for the decisive TD with like 7 minutes left in the game. Then a Judson interception capped the victory as Judson simply killed the final minute by kneeling.
Judson 17 - Westfield 14.
It is unfortunate that this game wasnt on TV. From listening to it on the radio, it sounded like one helluva game.

Both defenses played well. I'm surprised Judson didn't throw more.

I wish Pierre would havent got hurt because there will always be what ifs me personally knew that the offense relied on Pierre. Im not trying 2 make an excuse but judson would never beat WF without Pierre hurt. I hope he is not seriously injured he is a great player. Nevertheless, Great Win Judson best of luck next week

Well, the Eagle neither crashed nor aborted. Neither did the Judson Rockets today. In the case of Apollo 11, just after Gene Kranz warned controllers to keep down the chatter in the minute or so after the Eagle had landed, Gene Kranz refocussed everyone on the immediate task at hand: "OK, everyone get ready for T1 Stay/no-stay."
Put in everyday vernacular: It's time for the Judson Rockets to get back to work. We have a mission to complete, and we didn't come this far just to burn up on re-entry. The Final Exam is noon next Saturday.

They actually did better it seemed without Pierre in the game. It was early, so he might have gotten on track as the game went on, but Westfield probably had negative total yardage when he was injured.
