The table below is a bit hard to read, but it shows the composite final 2004 national high school football rankings. Polls included are calpreps, ihigh, prepnation, schoolsports, studentsports, tonybianco, and usatoday.

Soutlhlake Carroll finished #1 in 6 of 7 polls with an average ranking of #1.
Independence NC is ranked #7 but if calpreps poll is excluded ranks #2. (calpreps didn't rank them).
Mission Viejo ranks #3.
Colerain is only other team to be ranked #1 but averaged #4.

Other Texas teams are:

Lufkin #21
Abilene #40
Judson #45
Kilgore #55
Smithson Valley #67 (tie)
Tyler Lee #67 (tie)
Clear Lake #81 (tie)
Westfield #81 (tie)

Those Calpreps guys do a good job with this stuff. I really like their work and polls. That Westfield loss kept Judson out of the overall Top 10 because they would've been Top 10 in almost every poll and Top 5 in some.

Calpreps results really aren't a poll, per se.

Calpreps maintains a massive database of actual game results from all over the nation. They have a computer model that uses those results to derive their "poll". It also provides a list of "toughest schedules" (I put a link to it in the "Toughest Texas Schedule" thread).

Yeah, but they did rank you guys 36 spots ahead of Westfield despite the loss. That's a pretty sweet deal. ;)

Who cares about the ranking with Judson....Westfield won when it mattered ;)

I can't complain too much since they lost in the playoffs. Texas did get 9 teams in the Top 100, including a 4A team.
