Cowboys defense was very impressive last night. Giants could not run the ball, Eli was pressured all night.

Romo was impressive in how he handled the situation before the game, during the game and especially after the game. I still think T.O. is a punk and I think he was lying through his teeth last night during that press conference. I guess we outside the locker room will never know and that is the way it should be.

If the Cowboys defense plays like this the next two weeks...they may be playing a while. Can they sustain this? That is the question and only time will tell. As a Giants fan, the Cowboys scare me more than anybody else in the NFC.

As for the Giants, getting Jacobs back will help. I am glad Buress is gone, but I am afraid they will miss him on the field. Eli better get ready for 8-9 man boxes because teams will load up to stop Jacobs and the running game.

Gaints = division champs (not FAIL)
Dallas = needs 2 more wins to even be a wildcard team (FAIL)

Dallas fans were worried to death that Brad Johnson might have to come in the game yesterday.
Witten still has more receptions in the game than T.O. , and T.O. gets booed from the fans during pre-game warmups. He drops an easy T.D. pass, then later, falls down short of a first down. Needed to be booed again.

Giants = 11-3
Dallas = the suck.

So if the Cowboys "suck" what's with Roger Staubach?
I know one thing that has not been sucking lately and that's the defense. The past 6 weeks or so they have picked it up. They look more aggressive and have been getting to the qb more than ever. If the D keeps playing well, they should always be close at the end.

The cowboys have lost 2 more games than the Giants. 2 games is not the difference between a good team and a bad team. Lest we forget that the Boys have their last two games vs. the Ravens and Eagles, and control their own destiny. They have a record better than or equal to 4 of the 7 other divisions' leaders. That =/= suck.

Here is the winning percentages of NFL franchises... even though Dallas has 5 Superbowl rings, the Steelers and 49ers do too. So that statement about Dallas being the best just isnt correct.

1. Miami .600
2. Oakland .585
3. Chicago .574
4. Dallas .578
5. Cleveland .572
6. 49ers .565

Besides that,if we count championships, then you just cant count superbowls. You have to also count NFL championships. So total championships go to Green Bay.

12: Green Bay -- 9 NFL (1929-31,36,39,44,61-62,65), 3 Super Bowls (1966-67,96)
9: Chicago -- 8 NFL (1921, 32-33,40-41,43,46,63), 1 Super Bowl (1985)
8: Browns: 8 -- 4 AAFC (1946-49), 4 NFL (1950,54-55,64)
6: New York Giants -- 4 NFL (1927,34,38,56), 2 Super Bowls (1986,90)
5: Dallas -- 5 Super Bowls (1971,77,92-93,95)
5: Washington -- 2 NFL (1937,42), 3 Super Bowls (1982,87,91)
5: 49ers -- 5 Super Bowls (1981,84,88-89,94)

Being in a 3 way tie for 5th place just didnt give any grounds to boast about being the "best".

If you count championships (NFL championships up to Superbowl I, which was in 1967, and Super Bowls) after Dallas came into the league (1960), it becomes:

6: Green Bay -- 3 NFL (61-62,65), 3 Super Bowls (1966-67,96)
5: Dallas -- 5 Super Bowls (1971,77,92-93,95)
5: 49ers -- 5 Super Bowls (1981,84,88-89,94)
5: Steelers -- 5 Super Bowls (Look up the dates)
3: Washington -- 3 Super Bowls (1982,87,91)
3: New York Giants -- 3 Super Bowls (1986,90,2008)
2: Chicago -- 1 NFL (63), 1 Super Bowl (1985)
1: Browns: -- 1 NFL (1964)

So since Dallas came into the NFL, they are tied for 2nd most championships, and as you said, they have a better winning percentage than The 49ers, Steelers, and Packers. That's enough to at least argue that they are the best.

Sure, if we only count the years since they came into the league.
Just for fun, lets count only the years that the Cleveland Browns and the 49ers were in the AAFC.

The 49ers were 38 wins, 14 losses, and 2 ties. Thats a .722 percentage.
The Browns were 47 wins, 4 losses, and 3 ties. Thats a .898 percentage. Plus add in the fact that they were undefeated in 5 post season games.
That would make them the greatest.
Point is, you have to use the whole history, not just a certain time frame.

The plain fact is the Cowboys represent the NFL worldwide. They have the championships and more fans than ANY other team by a long shot. Everyone knows the Cowboys star. Taking all the aspects that are the nfl the Cowboys are by far the best franchise in history.

hating them does not change that.

When you look at success on the field alone, there are other teams that can be included in the discussion.

The factors some folks are leaving out( conveniently) are the draw that the Cowboys are when playing on the road, the TV ratings they have regardless of what time slot they play in, as well always leading in merchandise sales. When these factors are included, nobody in the NFL is remotely close across that spectrum. Stadiums play a big role in driving franchise value. Next season, the Cowboys will be playing(rightfully so) in the best stadium in the league. They will be the most valuable franchise in the NFL.

You play the games to win, but the franchises are fundamentally a business, and there is absolutely no way in hell you could question the Jerry Jones as being the best franchise in football when you include all of this.

Fact is that they are not based on winning pct., or total Super Bowls and or Championships won. popularity doesnt equal being successful. Being in the drivers seat this year for a Wildcard spot, last year being the #1 seed and dropping the first p.o. game, having a winless p.o. record (for what now, 10-12 years?)
