Now that we have 2 8-5a teams in the finals, is there any argument that 8-5a is the best district in the state?

congrats to Allen and Wylie!

it will be nice to have two state trophies about 5 miles apart :notworthy

No doubt! Both have to play two good teams to do it but as long as they stay focused I do believe they are capable to bring both home!

Collin County already has one state title in football this year with a chance for 3 more. All the way Celina, Allen and Wylie to join the boys over at Prosper.

Congrats to Prosper on the state title. :D

Wylie, Celina and Allen had better bring home the hardware!

It will be an honor to say we played TWO state champions in the regular season and played Wylie pretty close until the 4th quarter. :notworthy

PESH fans are going to use the methodology that it was a 5 point game, and no team has come within 5 points (other than Hebron) during the playoffs against Wylie. Therefor if Wylie wins against Katy, PESH has won a moral state championship. :D:notworthy

Congrats Allen and Wylie. Let's bring both trophies hometo the Metroplex!

It's still hard to fathom that Wylie is in the state finals. After you beat Hebron, I was hoping you would win state to say we got beat by the State Champs. But, honestly, I really didn't think you would make it. You've definitely made believers out out us non-AHMO folk. If you play like you have the past five weeks, I don't see how Katy can prevail.

If Wylie and Allen win this saturday, does Wylie become Moral Division 1 State Champs since we pulled within 3 of them?

I'm not the first to say it, and no offense is intended to other teams Wylie has met it the playoffs but.............

Hebron was the toughest team Wylie faced in the playoffs. Hebron could have just as easily won that game as Wylie.

Wylie/Hebron probably was one of the best PO games this year. Both teams are so evenly matched (but obviously Wylie is a little better :D), that yes, it could have gone either way. Some Hawk fans would say that if Hebron would have won that game, we would be in the same position as Wylie. But the truth is, you never know if the same Bowie team, or Ceder Hill, or CC for that matter, would have showed up to play Hebron. As FarmerFan said, it's all about the match ups. Maybe Bowie would have done to Hebron what Wylie did to them. You never know.

But what you do know is that Wylie has taken care of business and is playing for the State Championship. Again, good luck on Saturday.

Interesting side note. It could happen that in two of the past three years, the team that Hebron lost to at the start of the season and the end of the season went on to win the state championship. Cedar Hill in 2006 and Wylie in 2008. How many other schools can claim that distinction?

For God sake man, it's all he's got!

A tattered remnant of a dream, the longing for just one, more, chance. In time he will release that tatter to the big do-over in the sky!

Then, when the spring flowers start to bloom, the dream, the dream will be reborn, new, fresh, ALIVE!!!:D

Like many from the metroplex, my wife and I drove to Waco Saturday. It was exciting to be at Floyd Casey rooting for the eagles. I realized when we arrived however that I would need my stadium seat as the Baylor benches had no backs. Well of course even though I had dressed in neutral colors my seat was a proud shade of green and said Dragon's on it. As we entered on the Allen side an Allen players mom approached me and said "Dragons"! She stared for a moment but before I could speak the harsh look on her face faded into a big smile. I then said we were here to root the eagles on. She gave me a hug and went on her way. She must have been proud that her son and his team had a much bigger fan base than she thought. Even a hated Dragon fan or 2 or more had come to root the Allen Eagles on. Well I am proud to say on that particular day, MY team won.

A little later my team won again! Go Allen and Wylie. We (DFW metroplex) are proud to have you represent us. Make sure to bring home the hardware!:)

I know what you mean DragonFan, I was there with my shaker painted in a Plano theme. When Plano plays Allen or Wylie, there's no way I'm wishing them well (except for no injuries), other thatn that.... it's 8-5A all the way.

HAd a lot of fun at Floyd Casey and fun again at WISD. I've got the room booked and headed to Houston for more of the same.

I will be watching cowboys but will switch over during commericals to see what Allen is doing:(.

I had rescheduled my flight that went unused last year to San Antonio after the Trinity loss for Houston this year before Plano was somehow upset by Trinity. Well I guess I got to use it for vacation flight credit since I don't think Plano will make a legit run next year. Hey, you never know.

Allen and Wylie represent what is great about 8-5a football, balanced offense, soild special teams, and timely hard-hitting defense. Both teams have the ability to control the trenches. Both coaching staffs are very good at gameplanning which will be important with limited time and exposure to prepare. Watch out for new wrinkles from Wylie in any of the 3 aspects of the game. Allen has the knack to be in the right play or defensive call depending on what the situation. There opponents will be worthy ones, but 8-5a is battle tested from district play and stiffer playoff competition.
