Just some that stand out in my memory.

A school that doesnt get any awards or recognition really - us...

I vote QB #10 Davis Miller... He dominated most games - so much so he was usually pulled by halftime or the third quarter... But the two games he didnt dominate (bad games I guess) he still made them memorable... Like jumping over a LB who was standing up (essentially) in an attempt to make a first down in the first round of the playoffs (where we played like absolute crap)...

video (http://www.athletesconnection.com/content/view/3638/10079/)

The play Im refering to is 2:20-2:30ish...

I also wanna throw in the SS from Strake Jesuit...

(I was also kinda diggin' that little WR from Permian, #12- I think, great hands!)

That catch in the 4th quarter of the OP-Allen game was one of the best catches I've ever seen, and the situation it was in made it even greater. Tremendous effort by that kid.

Stetson Smith #10 Trinity - Can do it all...play WR, QB, FB. College coaches will suffer from "option anxiety". Q- Where do you put him?? A- Wherever you need him that week.

Tevin Williams #7 Trinity - Soph RB...will be the real deal when he stops making soph mistakes and running past his downfield blockers. This will come with experience.

Earnest "Pokey" Norman #2 Trinity LB...just bad to to the bone.

Andrew Murphy #28 Trinity LB...put on another 20-25 lbs he can definitely play at the next level.

Rex Burkhead #20?? Plano - See Stetson Smith...Again, option anxiety!! One awesome athlete!:ninja:

#8 from Wylie...Don't know his name, but he is an evil, fire breathing beast, manchild of a football player!!

Taylor Byrd #25 Odessa Permian QB...I know, I know...this was supposed to be for 2008, but I didn't get to give him his props from last year. In one word, "playmaker". Anyone know where he went??

The whole damn Allen Eagle football team:mad:...I don't have a roster to list them all. If they stay focused and focus ONLY on the week ahead...I don't see a team in Texas that can stop them.:notworthy

Ricky Gaines - WR - Dickinson
Shane Ros - ATH - Cinco Ranch
Hasan Lipscomb - RB - Cy Ridge
Nick Narcisse - DL - Katy

Narcisse is going to be something special here in a few years. The kid is only a sophomore. I see him being a captain and leading the 2009 & 2010 Katy defense to a state championship.

I am going to change this up....my vote for player(s) is the O-Line at Allen. Just complete nastiness, same thing with Trinity, their O-Line got after you. Both these player(s) were fun to watch. Shane Ros - QB from Cinco Ranch - A lot of heart from this kid. Oh, so fluent and accurate in the passing game, and he could did a better job than anybody I've seen at evading Hightower's defensive line. Great competitor.

TE from North Shore - I believe his number was 87, but this guy has killed Hightower two straight years. Very athletic guy for his size.

Casey Carrier - Pearland - Best running back in the state, in my mind. Runs with more guts and heart than anybody I've seen at the high school level.

Phillip Steward and Darius Johnson (#12) - Hightower is going to be sad to see these two go. Steward is a defensive force and has taken the defense under his wing, whilest Johnson has been our best reciever all year, and in my mind, one of the best recievers in State.

I don't buy the crap about best players because it's about players that win! I don't believe you can be MVP on a losing team and I would rather have Joe Montana or Phil Simms than Dan Marino, Dan Fouts. The great players transend there teams to a different level and if you took that paticular off that team they would an average team. The best players win! Carry there teams and make everyone around them better.

 This is about the players we as individuals thought stood out in games that we witnessed. What is wrong with that? A player can have an individual good game and still lose. Take a look at the NB linebacker Tom Wort. A tremendous player, playing hurt early, and his team did not make the playoffs. Doesn't mean he isn't a great player. Was Barry Sanders a great player? Did he take his team to the superbowl? By your definition, he is not.

The QB from SA Clark impressed me in the one game I watched him. The first play he took a naked about 50-60 yards to the house against SA Madison. He threw for a couple of touchdowns, and also as far as I could tell he came in on 3rd and longs to play in the secondary. He intercepted two passes. His last pick clinched the game for Clark on Madison's final drive.
