Judson's #1 back not SA's

i have to agree, i can name several Running Backs that had better years than Chauncey. nothing against him he just did not have the caliber of year as some other backs.

I disagree, but I always do with you. Look Judson did suck in the playoffs and what do you expect, but really this was not he year of the back in San Antonio. Green, Armstong, and the Clark back are the only ones that I see as as good or a tad better this year. That is how I see it and again that is not a Judson fan statement just facts.

Chauncey had the most yards and rushing TDs I believe.
Doesn't that make him the best back in SA?
And add Brown from Steele to that list. He is a great back also and he is only a sophomore.

Judson also played in the weakest district in the area.Just stating facts.Every decent team that Judson played this year they lost to and chauncy was a non fatcor against the only team they played that is left in the playoffs save one big run he busted.

Great Back!! Probably has the best vision and feet of all the RB's in SA. Definitely in the top 5 in SA. Finished the regular season with the most yards rushing.

Wagnerdad you might be interested to know as well that I just finished last week posting the season narrative on Judson's 2007 season
http://www.judsonrocketball.com/2007. You may want to check out the writeup for the history-making 2007 Wagner game. Someone also uploaded partically all of the game broken into segments by quarter on youtube, and I embedded those on that page as well.

Chauncey is a great back and i take nothing away from him. I have to list Green (MAD), Brown (Steele), Ross (Clemens) and Jock (Clark) at Chauncey's level or slightly higher. i would not Rank Armstrong above Chauncey as i think he under achieved but did play a tougher schedule. My second tier would include Armstrong (The Velt), Brown (EC), Salinas (SW), Pawlick (Pleasanton), Johnson (SW), Tyson (Stevens) Those are the one's i can think of off the top of my head.

Not really San Antonio Area but Trent Jackson at Cuero has some unbelievable numbers. Averaged over 14 yards a carry, scored a touchdown every 5th time he touched the ball!

If i had to choose one to put on top it would be Brown at (Steele), I got to see him as a Freshman and then twice this year as a Sophomore and he has all the tools. Also scoring a touchdown on every 8th carry is quite impressive too.

I'm a Steele fan for 4A (cuz my entire church but me go to Steele) and I got to see them play. He is a great back and he does great at the Varsity level but the injury in the middle of the season really hurt him and I didn't get to see him play. I know against Lake Travis he kept that game close.

l believe all of this is subjective. Which backs fumble the most? Which backs can run up the middle? Which backs can break one from any spot on the field? Who can take a hit! Who can deleiver a blow and get that extra yard! It really depends on the schools scheme and how they utilize the player. Not sure the Salinas kid would do as well in Madisons offense or Green in Southwests!! There's at least 10-12 good backs in the city, of which most will play another position in college!! Ryan Swope of Westlake is switching positions at A&M. I've seen alot of high school football in the last few years and I see the talent level in SA going up. Now, with that said how many can play RB in college? All of them, just not at a D-1 level!!

True that...I went to the Steele v. Clemens game, and since I didn't know too much about Steele, was kinda hoping for a good game. Not only did Steele win, I was really impressed with how Brown seemed to be getting stronger as the game went on, even with Clemens' defense knowing who was getting the ball.

Chauncey "Fumblina" Harris had a great year.....but, his propensity to put the pigskin on the turf, especially in the redzone, takes away from his game. He may be the absolute definition of a gamebreaker and a homerun hitter, but he needs to do a better job in the future with ball control. In college, they will do a better job of attacking his grip and forcing fumbles. He needs to learn the proper technique for carrying the ball.
