I have not heard a report but I hope for cold and rain. The colder and wetter it is, the more advantage I think it is for Cove. This will allow Garner to absolutely take the game over.I know Lufkin fans will argue but it is true. This is one of those intangibles favoring Cove.

Claybon has struggled throwing the ball in the windy city of Waco. He usually throws darts and great deep balls but the Waco wind caused him to throw several duck's. Hopefully the win will not be near 30 mph's like it was in the HH game.

50 degrees with 10-15 mph winds will be plenty cold.Only the mentally tough will excel, both indivually and as a team.Advantage Cove.

Homer, you sure do talk big for a team that has accomplished jack squat in recent years. If you think your RB will be faster than Lufkin's D, you've seriously misjudged your competition. I am sure the Lufin coaches and faithful are not underestimating their opponent. Advantage Lufkin.

Who said anything about RB's outrunning anyone??? He was talking about a weather advantage. What are YOU talking about:confused:

In his initial post, Homer suggested that Cove's RB would be able to take over the game if the weather were poor. I believe it will take a solid, balanced offensive effort for Cove to win this game. They need nice weather just as much as Lufkin does.

Talking about the QB dude!!! Calm yourself. No one is saying anyone will out run anyone.

Garner is the QB. GETS YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU ATTACK SOMEONE.

I apologize for misstating his position. Needless to say, I was not attacking you. I still think you are underestimating Lufkin's abilities and I have a hard time understanding how one team's QB would thrive in bad weather while the other struggles. I find your "Advantage Cove" ending rather humorous, but its all in fun, right? Let's just say your team will make a big statement and take a big step if they can get past a premier Texas football program like Lufkin. I will be there, so we'll just have to discuss our thoughts after the game. Since I am a fan of neither team, I just hope its a good game.

Keep it real, Homer. Keep it real.

Running teams usually do have a slight advantage over passing teams in bad weather. But that is not going to be the case this week because the weather is supposed to be great besides a decent breeze. Lufkin can run it well if necessary though.

The past has nothing to do with this game...If I want I can bust out past performances in rain like a 46-0 beating of Bryan last year against a QB who was suppose to be good only threw for like 20 yds and a 56-14 beating of shoemaker both in storms..This crap has nothing to do with tomorrow...Its gonna be great weather for 2 great teams...By the way our running back can take over anygame if he wants to but that wont happen we are well balanced

I'm not sure how Floyd Casey field is, but Waco ISD field can be like a freaking wind tunnel at times.

We're really getting into relevant info. now. The weather is forecasted to be upper 50's with no rain and light breezes. I call that a draw with a slight advantage for the band.

15 MPH wings are not a slight breeze. You should know that. That type of wind,in Baylor stadium, will make passing difficult and affect BOTH teams passing game.It is just a matter of who can cope best.

Do yall guys make it point to practice during hurricanes, tornadoes or a blizzard or something. How can you say that any team has an advantage...........bad weather spells sloppy game to me!!!

Bad weather will cause a passing team more problems than a running team is the logic I believe. I am glad it will be nice...don't really like sitting in the stands during rainstorms!!:D

Pack0808, I'll be looking for you Friday nite. About 4-5 Katy fanatics are cruising up to Waco to watch this matchup. KT2000 will be there also. We will be sitting on the Purple side so save us a seat. I will be donning my red Katy t-shirt with my username on the back so I shouldn't be too hard to find. Hope the Cove fans don't think we're favoring ya'll over them. We're just there to see a good game, have a good time and hopefully meet some Lufkin posters from this forum. Maybe there will be time around halftime to stroll over to meet some Cove faithful if that's possible at Casey.
See ya'll Friay nite!!

Well im telling you right now your running back will not take over the game vs Lufkin. Lufkin is the only team that i have ever seen that will come up and hit you and in the mouth. Then help you up and tell you i will be here again. They play smashmouth football there.Im telling you that yalls running back will no he has been hit.

It better not rain! Does this mean that one Cove fan is hoping for weather to be an equalizer? If that is true you're team, in your mind, is already defeated. You're saying that your team can't win on equal terms. I would think the Cove players are pumped and ready to play whether it rains or not. This should be an entertaining game and I'm glad I'll be a part of it. Good luck to both teams.

Couldn't resist after seeing this post-

Reggie McNeal, 2001, Lufkin vs Trinity.

He killed us in the second half with that arm of his. Going home, all I remember is how cold and wet I was. Must have rained 3 inches in 40 degree weather that day.
