It's funny how all you judson fans think that just because kids are in the judson program they are automatically inclined to have more heart and desire on the field.
Well check out this article from the SA E-N. LINK (http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/hssports/football/stories/MYSA120105.1C.FBHjudson.perez.129ef3c9.html)
From the article:
Perez, an All-Area guard last season, sat out the first two months of his senior year because of high blood pressure and worries about his enlarged heart.
Perez felt a twinge in his chest during a preseason practice and was taken out of the Judson lineup a week before the season opener. Doctors gave him medication for his blood pressure and told him to eat healthier.
He had met with several cardiologists about his enlarged heart before seeing Dr. Benjamin Levine in Dallas, a noted cardiologist with a specialization in sports medicine.
Two months into the season, Perez had a doctor's clearance to bring to Judson coach Jim Rackley.
"Lo and behold, he gets the doctor's note and I'm jumping off the walls, pumping my fist," Rackley said. "I had come to the conclusion that he would not play."
