Besides pressure the quarterback, what advice does Abilene Coach Warren give Coach Brence?

do you have proof that Coach Warren did that? I dont recall any article in the paper saying anything like that last week. I also believe they twisted his words on the radio. I believe some of the good folks from Abilene cleared it all up last week but I may be wrong.

Sak and the SLC fans are bored - no exciting games in like 11.5 months (outside of SGP), they need something to stir things up -- Sak's idea of smack is pretty standard coach-speak.

I am just reporting what I heard right here on this board. :) Not trying to stir anything up.
Would seem like good advice, though, right?

maybe he will tell him how awesome a formation with nine lineman is. That was ridiculous

Abilene used a ridiculous formation with nine lineman and it never worked

It had worked in the past, just not that week against that team.

why would Brence want advice from a guy that lost 52-0?
i would call the Katy coach.

Maybe he wasn't asking for advice. Maybe it was to console. Maybe he wanted to know if he was wearing his lucky socks or underwear.

things of value can be learned, even in defeat.it certainly isn't the first time coaches get together. in the 77 po's, the rlturner coach who hated hp, spent the week with tk and help decifer their schemes. they also loaned special shoes. it was a labor of hate, and may have helped immensely.

Abilene had hte look they wanted, the refs screwed that play up by not starting the play clock then forcing Abilene to re huddle, had the refs not stepped in and blew the whistle Abilene might have actually had a decent offensive gain. The formation was not rediculous the Dragon defense was not ready for it. By no means would it have changed the outcome of the game but it would have given Abilene a chance to actually move the ball for a positive gain.

actually that was the "pods" formation, that they tried once. They used nine lineman atleast 6 times throughout the game in short yardage situations.
