So, if your team gets into the playoffs, many JV guys are called up for a practice squad, right? The deeper you go, the more practice time you get. So for everyone involved, less the Seniors, this is one heck of an opportunity to get better by gaining 4-5 weeks of extra practice time.

Considering 2-a-days start in August, most teams were through playing by early November. That's basically 3 months of football for most teams. So the teams that get into this weeks round have gotten about 33% more practice time to get better for next year.

It's like compounding interest. As the money grows, the interest grows, enabling the money to grow... The Rich get Richer.

The big established programs that go deep into the playoffs every year further enhance their ability to go deep into the playoffs next year.

It's a beautiful thing. All in a sudden, Spring Training seems that much closer.

Right on, man. I bet Judson is playing this week a year from now, too!

I will take that bet.
The only difference now is that 2 teams will be in D1 and there is some chance that a team from Judson's district will be able to beat them in the playoffs. Those odds are better than another local team.

Better hope Jrock doesn't get stuck in a district with Seguin.

Hey, I had to give room to all the people who want to get naked. Too bad none of them are women!:D

I'm using almost all of the allocated 500 characters.

I'm going to start taking bids on what goes in there. It's like billboards in certain parts of town. You have to read my signature more, so that makes it more valuable!:D

very true, welcome to that feeling. katy has enjoyed it for a long time and i am a firm believer it is one of the things that keeps our program strong.

It is the same way in all levels of football. College bowl bound teams get more practice during December, and NFL teams also get the added practice of playoffs, although it probably helps them less since they are at that level already.

And don't forget the bands - they just keep playing and maybe they will get those tunes figured out ;)

Trnity's poor Jv has been the whipping post for the offensive line since the playoff's started. Makes them tough for this fall season.:D
