How is their running game with him, do they pass alot with him or run alot too?

we corraled their running game. we helped him throw the ball around because we chose no to cover anyone who was wide open:mad: we dominated yards, but stats dont win games. im prolly over-hyping him a little. hes not exactly lights out, but did a very admirable job filling in on 5 days notice!!! we couldnt touch him, but thats his o-line doing that. if trinity can get some pressure occasionaly, he might fold??? dont know.....we never got within 10 ft of him.......

What do you mean "if" Trinity can get some pressure? It's a matter of how the Eagle O-line can stop, Coker, Tuipoluto, Fielo, Norman, and all of the other amazing Trojan D

It looked to me that OP ran a 4-2-5 denfense.

On almost every play they would send somebody. It was
usually the DB that was up on the slot receiver. Because they
did this the wide running plays did not work because there was a guy
rushing in which turned the Allen RB inside, usually for a loss.

BUT, that left them a guy short in the D-backfield. That is one
reason they were open on the pass plays.

Now, OP had more yards because they HAD to move ALL the way
up the field to score. They started their drive deep in their own
side. They had a lot of field to eat to get to the end-zone. Allen
had better field position all day. That is why they had fewer yards.
They did not have to travel 70-90 yards on every drive.

I'm sure they had prepared for a backup as well. They sent guys
to try and get to the QB. Sometimes it worked. Most of the time
it did not.

That is one of the things that every team has to decide on. Stop
the run, or stop the pass. If you have a Cedar Hill "D" you can do both!

It's the same with ET.

Which do you try to "stop". Either way you
end up getting burned by the other.

Allen doesn't have the power running game that y'all
have, but ol' #3 is healthy now and has done pretty well
the last couple of weeks.

If the play calling can match the situation . . .
it should be pretty exciting!

True 'dat;)
It will be a great game though, good luck to Allen as they try to get revenge. Emphasis on the try:D;):p

Matt Brown is a true dual threat QB. He is very accurate passing, and has quick feet once he gets out of the pocket. Brown runs the zone read play very well. I think the backup kid is very capable, but he is no Matt Brown, and the loss of Brown eliminates one of the major running threats for Allen. He is a great athlete, I have been watching him since he was a Frosh....oh yea, Go AHMO!

If he does play, he will be "flinching" with every throw. Looks like a good chance for pick6. You cant have even the trace of of that kind of injury and not consciously protect from the pain of throwing and getting hit.

He wouldn't play until it is all the way healed. He is smarter than that. :D

Senior year, playoffs, regional final, against the team that beat him earlier and made him look bad. I'm sure he WANTS to play. Hope he IS smart enough to sit it out if he isn't healed.

I've never heard the extent of his injury. Just vague references to a shoulder.

Hes a junior, but I agree if were going to win it, we have to do it this year! I don't see us being very good next year....

First of all, he's a junior...so he has another year to play. Secondly, he may WANT to play, but if he SHOULD play is another matter. I know they'll defer to whatever the doctor has told them he can do.

Doc usually is with the team during the week, so he'll probably be well advised

I view it like the Tony Romo inncodent after the Cardinals game...he's not too smart if he is willing to blow the whole season, possibly his career just for one game, no matter how big of a game it is.

He's still a kid. Play hurt but don't play injured. If you know what I mean.

I think Allen is a better team and has a better chance beating Trinity with Tucker as the qb. Trinity has Brown's number.

Duh! It's not like they print it on his uniform or anything...;)

Either way the Trojans will get the best effort from Allen.

Brown is not going to play the rest of the season! If he had a separated shoulder maybe, but he would be in a lot of pain and most likely would not be very interested in getting hit. So not threat of a run, roll-out or won't be able to follow-through on his passing. If he broke his collar bone(BINGO) he could warm up on the sidelines again but he would not play. There is no doubt in my mind. At any rate, the back-up is quite a good QB that has his own talent.:D

Brown suffered a collar bone break. So I am sure they will bench him, and he should if he wants to play next year.

I have the solution to this: Matt Brown plays but he has to wear a bright red jersey that signifies he's injured and Trinity can't hit him. Maybe he can play by flag football rules. Pull the flag out and he's down.

Ya see, now there's a great example of us all playing together nicely.

Well, there is one small catch to this. If Brown plays using the flag football rule, then our receivers get a ten yard cushion from your cover guys. I think it's only fair and in keeping with the spirit of the season.

think we do that anyway...oh you mean down field? :D

But might not be an issue either with our cover guys speed? ;)
