They shouldnt post that sort of information about any former president. Just a bad idea. Too many nutjobs out there looking to make a name for themselves.

No, but trying something re+arded at the White House is not the same as trying something re+arded in a private neighborhood.

You're right. I imagine that they could be pretty clandestine about moving in and living there. No one's going to notice anything. And if some neighbor happens to mention it in the supermarket, it's GITMO for them. Our former presidents should sink into anonymity. Maybe there is a mountain bunker at NORAD we could move them into. .

I'm not saying that.. gawd.. I'm just saying that it's not news. And it shouldnt be news. We all dont need to know the name of the subdivision they're moving to. that's all I'm saying. And it's not just Bushy. It's any of them. It shouldnt be news.

All I'm saying is that you can't exactly keep this stuff secret. And it really shouldn't be. Presidents are public servants, after all. The Secret Service does a heck of a job and they do not rely on secrecy (for the most part) to do it. I guarantee you that this news breaking is the least of their concerns right now. I'm not advocating that the media publish driving directions or the route he'll use to get to the grocery store or anything, but telling people roughly where they will be is not going to put him at any risk. Heck, nearly everyone in College Station knows the BUILDING where 41 stays when he comes to town.;)

Everyone in College Station. I dont know where 41 stays when he goes there. I'll bet most of America doenst know either.
It's not any of my business where he stays.
and yes, currently the pres. is a public servant (in name only). But when he leaves office, he no longer is. And it shouldnt be news about where he's going to live. Saying "North Dallas" is fine. We dont need any more than that. It's just a bad idea IMO.
You can disagree with me and that's ok. I respect your opinion even though it's different than mine. I just commented on it.

Actually Bill Clinton will be the last President to recieve lifetime protection as well as Hilary will have lifetime protection. The children and grandchildren recieve it until the age of 16. Here's the Wikipedia article on this...
Protection of former Presidents and First Ladies
In 1962, Congress authorized the Secret Service (Public Law 89-186)[13]to protect a former president and his spouse during their lifetime, unless they decline protection. In 1997, Congress enacted legislation that limits Secret Service protection for former presidents to ten years after leaving office. Under this new law, individuals who were in office before January 1, 1997 will continue to receive Secret Service protection for their lifetime. Individuals entering office after that time will receive protection for ten years after leaving office. Therefore, former President Bill Clinton will be the last president to receive lifetime protection, and President George W. Bush will be the first to receive protection for only ten years (until 2019).
Barbara Bush, Rosalynn Carter, Hillary Clinton, Betty Ford, and Nancy Reagan will continue to receive full-time protection for life, as former First Ladies. Laura Bush will be the first to receive protection for only ten years (until 2019). The Secret Service uses code names for U.S. Presidents, First Ladies, Vice Presidents, their spouses, children, and other prominent persons and locations.

It's in the University Park area so.. He's gonna be living in a very rizty neighborhood.
Supposedly the secret service bought the house next door. At least that's what they said on the news last night.

I drove by it today. Lots of people out front taking pictures. Nice house in a nice neighborhood. I drive right by it almost every day and never knew it was there though I knew Tom Hicks lived in the neighborhood.
