Post any openings you know are going to happen. Please do not list someone you WISH would be fired (though we all have a few of those).

Two openings in Aldine ISD. Aldine ISD "reassigned" Bob Jones @ Aldine Senior and Jerry Drones @ Aldine MacArthur. Anybody wanting to go to that district is a glutton for punishment. Aldine's athletic department is a brunt of many a joke in the Houston area. I wonder why.

Should limit discussion only to openings that have happened. Big difference.

Given responses #2 and #3 probably not very long.

And keep personal opinions about said openings to themselves.

On Wednesday, only discuss openings A through M. Other openings should be discussed on Thursday between 2:00 A.M. and 2:01 A.M.

Agreed 100%...

This thread can survive IF we can limit the discussion to those openings that have already occurred.

Speculation, rumors, or "inside info" about potential coaching changes will shut the thread down.

besides from new schools openings and announced retirements..I doubt there are any new changes that have been announced....the seaosn is still going on. If someone is going to be fired, reassigned or accept another position with a different school, all most everybody will not know for a while as these things usually happen well after the new year.

Leander Vista Ridge is open. Great kids, small enrollment, tough, tough, tough district. Will lose some kids to new Vandegrift High in the district as well.

Well, here's an example from 16-5A:

Vista Ridge (http://www.statesman.com/sports/content/sports/stories/highschool/11/25/1125vistaridge.html)

After only 1 season in 5A, Vista Ridge's coach Bill Wilder resigned last week. He's only 36, so I doubt he wants out of coaching entirely. They've had a tough time getting going since opening a few years ago, but I believe they are just as capable as any school in this district to develop into a strong program. Leander ISD has made a big commitment to new facilities and stadiums, so this should be an appealing job for many candidates.

Thank you for the clarification. I was implying to include those who have said they're retiring, but yet the job hasn't been posted on the necessary sites to solicit applicants. But yes, it has to be an official thing- no wishful thinking or rumors. Those are what get sites a bad name. 5ATF is known for controlling that pretty well.

KT Guys, we'll keep it (somewhat) sane if you keep us open on this thread.

David Suggs was fired as well.

And he was a "Hot Roman Candle" going from PA Lincoln to Bmt Central to Aldine Nimitz that quickly. He'll show up somewhere soon- might take a coordinator job for a year and relax while looking before putting back on the Fox-40 whistle.

Of course Bmt Central is in the Region Final this year, so maybe he shouldn't have left. ;)

You're kidding me. Being able to count the 5A openings on two hands with the playoffs already winding down?

To quote the fat kid from The Simpson's, "That's unpossible!"

The Lewisville job has been posted.

Understand that their hire will be Dick Olin from Baytown Lee. He's the step-father of Drew Tate and also coached Clint Stoerner.

He's also a really good coach. You left out a little on his run of QBs:
Clint Stoerner (Arkansas)
Jermaine Alfred (Baylor)
Ell Roberson III (Kansas St.)
Drew Tate (Iowa)
Brian Johnson (Utah)
Jeremy Moses (SFA)

...The Farmers could do worse -- Olin would be a great hire.

U left one out...Brian Johnson of Utah...playing against Bama in the Sugar Bowl...That might turn out to be a Georgia-Hawaii game but as you know they still gotta play...Aldine ISD will have 3 new football coaches next year WOW!!! craziness

Thank you. I'll make that fix now. That's an amazing run.

But yes, Aldine ISD needs some new blood. That district is doing some really good things in the classroom... but it's not often translating to the field house or the fine arts building.

Olin is only expected to be in Lewisville 3 years to pad his retirement plan and then he will retire. He was at the board meeting last night and they announced him as the new coach. He had his son there also. It is a disgrace the way that LISD did this. IMHO

Well, if he does, hopefully he'll bring some assistants with him and/or bring the program up where they'll get an even better coach.

Done deal. Looks like the Maroons have to start rebuilding - again. Vincent can coach 'em up.

They have big numbers in their program at Austin high, they just don't have feeders or a wealth of great athletes. It would seem to me that you should focus on a running game, if you don't have feeders, and a sound defense. Build strong lines and play a physical brand of ball. I know West Austin folks wannna be like Westlake/Lake Travis, but w/o control over MS programs that is hard, and they don't have the super athletes like P-ville and SP. I think they could be great because of the support and program numbers, but the spread is not gonna work in the AISD at their school. A great running game built around a hard nosed, big, physical OL and a tough four man front DL. Keep it simple!

I agree. they were at their best in 07 with Buchanan and some big ole hogs up front. That d-line they had was good, too; power football tends to work in urban ISDs.
