I guess I will watch it for the 17,000 time.
I wish they would have played the play-offs scene as it happened in real life.
Of course I would have had to watch my Lamar Vikes loose for the 17,000 time.

17,000 time, thats like 5 times a day... so 10 hours a day you watch it, 5 hours a day your on here, 8 hours a day you sleep, that leaves one hour

I had some kids come up to me at a football game once and ask me if I was Stone Cold Steve Austin... I look at the dad and then back to the kids and say "you bet I am". I signed their shirts "Austin 3:16". Dad came back over later and was like "they'll be talking about this forever." I says "I know. and they may never know the truth". He says "nope, it would ruin the whole thing for them".

well they did have it right, we all know the true state championship game that year was Carter/Permian. How would Judson/Carter have made for good video, I mean we all know Carter whipped Judson :D

Yep and here's the break down of that hour.
10 min crap
20 min shower
28 min for breakfast
1:30 sec to collect my keys wallet etc.
:30 seconds to talk to my wife.

Well I bring my portable battery operated DVD player with the 6" LCD screen I bought at Wal-Mart to the games.
This way I can have on Friday Night Lights and watch the games.
Of course the Midland Fans didn't like it too much this Sat.

That movie is good.
Last week at Thanksgiving, I talked to my my grandma's brother(dont know the official title of him to me, is it second uncle or something??).Anyways, he is from up north(Around Phili) and he told me that up there everyone saw that movie and said that is exactly how they pictured high school football in Texas. When I told him that there were specific web sites for high school football in Texas, Multi Million dollar stadiums and 10K fans at a regular season game, he about flipped.

I loved that movie. Why didn't they mention that Dallas Carter was stripped of their title because of ineligible players?

Thnaks Lonnie I will do so, although being from the Metroplex I have no respect for that Carter Team. Not all Carter Teams just 89-90
In fact the real story behind wasn't the ineligibility but the 6 or 7 of them that were robbing KFC's around Dallas I believe a few of them got prison for it.

ESPN recently ran a documentary on that Carter team.
told the story of how a group of players did go on a robbing spree around Dallas.
2 of them did go to prison....they are out now

Because I get people to do stupid things. It makes their day. When I asked him to autograph it he asked me why. I told him that they man that takes my money has more importance to me personally than the people in the movie. He says "that makes sense." I says: "no. It doesn't. But that is the beauty of it."
Lonny, if you've not figured it out yet, I spend a lot of my time amusing myself and seeing how far I can push people before I offend them. I have an ongoing study of people in general and I have a good time with it.
I do most of the things people wish they would do themselves. I say things that people sit around wishing they had said. People are interesting and I enjoy seeing them react to things... The human is the most mis-understood creature on this planet.

My favorite scene is during the "title game" when the Carter defender looks like he dove down from the Dome rafters to make a big hit. Gotta love movie magic. No routine tackles in Hollywood.

My personal favorite is when the Permian star D-lineman (his name escapes me at the moment), after becoming more confident, says to the Carter O-lineman just prior to a snap something like "I'm 'bout to show you some West Texas Football."
It was ON after that...:D

I liked the For Sale signs scene in the coaches yard after the Abilene Cooper loss.
Hey by the way I wonder if anyone stopped Coach Dodge in the Wal-Mart parkign lot today to let him know he can't get beat by Plano this weekend!

That's the one thing I never understood. It seems like they'd want to capitalize on the Carter thug image as much as they could.

I used to push buttons around here, but stopped because I was upsetting too many people. My opinion has always been that anybody who can't control their emotions deserves to have somebody push their buttons. Eventually some people figure out that they need to stay calm and resolve matters in a rational manner.
I see how much you try to amuse yourself. I wish we had more free spirits around here. We may be lucky to have 50 on the board, but I don't know if we have that many. This place would be boring if we always had to talk about football and not other stuff. I gravitate to what you and Mad Fan say because you guys are funny and quirky. I know plenty of people think I'm arrogant because of what I say, but I'm joking around on a bunch of it.
If you go back and look at the board calendar, I've added some dates to the calendar. National Tapioca Pudding Day was a few days ago, Judson day is coming up Dec 10th, and the 23rd of every month is Lonny Day!:D I have some more dates to add, but I haven't taken the time yet.

Tapioca is good stuff. Benny and Joon all the way...
I joke around all the time. I think I dream most of this junk up when I'm asleep.
I used to keep a log of the crap I came up with while sleeping. It has went someplace. I will prolly see it in some book one day and some punk I thought was my friend took it and got rich or something.
The way I see it, there is no reason to be all serious all the time. Even when you're serious, you can still have fun and smile. Even during my divorce I had a good time and had everyone smiling. I'm a very animated story teller. Plus, I don't think about things, I just do them. Otherwise, I'd never have anything to talk about.
How many people do you know that goes to Phoenix to work for 3 months and brings home a girl and her 2 kids as souvenirs? None prolly. Now you do. I sent her back after 2 months though. I do everything. I'm scared that when I get old and am on my way to dead that I will start thinking of things I should have done. That would just suck so very much.
I think I may start a list of things I've done, in off topic, so you can all see the stupid stuff I've done and know what wont work and what not to do.

One of the coaches in the movie is an actual coach at Permian and he was my head JV coach at Rowlett. I saw him after taping the movie and they said they gave him alot money, and he only had like 7 lines. He is the younger coach that asks "Is that OUR player" (I forgot his name, the back up RB that scores on his 2nd play). I thought it was pretty cool to see my old coach in a movie. I know this is the internet and I can throw out alot of manly BS but it still gets me everytime he puts the ring on his finger at the end.

I'll be right there with you on the list of things I've done. That's why I said I'll have 100 years of life in 50 years. The guys I used to work with told me they wanted to go to court when I have my divorce trial because they'd laughed so much at my stories. I laugh when I'm telling the story, too.
I got National Tapioca Pudding Day from watching the Garfield TV show. That show is awesome and my kind of humor.
