College and High School Team can't beat NFL and they will never be. For 1 true example, Southlake Carroll can beat Harvard, Texas can't Texans because every single player in NFL are PROFESSIONALS! Not College Level!

As good as SLC is, they wouldn't have a chance against a D1 nor a D1AA. Texas State for example, won their conference and is in the playoffs. I might add that the only way to crown a national champion is to decide it on the field. BCS sucks and so does D1 for not having a playoff. Texas State would kill SLC. Literally, they have size and speed. If Riley Dodge played QB 1 play, Coach Dodge would have a lot of explaining to do to Mrs. Dodge on why he allowed his son to be destroyed. I am not joking. And, Texas State would get killed by the worst NFL team. Size, speed and strength can't be coached. Dodge is a great coach, but.......

There is no high school team that could ever beat an NFL team, not even if it's the best HS team against the worst NFL team. You have to understand that in high school, the best players come from just your city. College recruits the best of high school players around the country and the NFL recruits the best of college players. That also gives NFL players far more experience than high school.

no you know I probably quoted the wrong thing - I read the whole thread but just quoted the initial question - I know he isn't from SLC - I was more referring to the people who entertained the thought - it is destructive - like I said I remember DW shut that down when it started. you don't have to post or read anything. You make assumptions about how Carroll fans actually believe that they can beat an NFL team, and then are asked to show where they said that and you say it is impossible. I say that it is then impossible to make the assumptions that you did.

If you don't like the direction that a discussion is going, then stay out of it. There were no personal attacks and nobody's feelings were getting hurt. We are all fans, there should not be any players or coaches posting on these boards. As fans we can make outlandish claims and jokes and it does not effect the teams.

I played D1AA - When I first got there, I was surprised that it was much like high school minus the dead weight. These top high school teams with lots of D1A talent I believe would beat some of these lower D1AA colleges.

I didnt list anyone but SLTHUG and I indicated that since I know he has a sense of humor, I discounted his comments. I do have a true story that may be relavant to this discussion.

Several years ago my job took me to England for a couple of years. I had a chance to spend some time in Wales. They have a great Rugby team and they think they are the toughest athletes in the world. I met a man who told me that the Welsh Rugby Team challenged the Dallas Cowboys to a game of rugby AND a game of "American" football. He said the Cowboys accepted the challenge. He then proceeded to tell me that the Welsh Rugby team won BOTH games.

It's amazing what a zealous homer fan will believe.

I dont even get this as funny. I know SLC is good, in their peer arena. But you cant think for a moment that SLC could take out most any college team much less a pro team. Regardless of how bad the Texas might be, this is not even worth discussing. SLC still has several good high school teams to play this year. They certainly could not beat ANY Ivy League team and probably not Blynn Junior College.

My brother didnt even play alot at Lufkin and he started as a true freshmen and was the best player on the defense.

d-2 definitely gives schollies. i think they have a maximum of 35-36. having watched lots of d-3 and somewhat less d-2, i think there are several hs teams that could play with some of the lower rung d-3 and none of the d-2 schools. anything higher is a pipe dream or a joke or both.

McElroy would not even be able to throw the ball because the Houston D lineman would tear through the SLC offensive lineman like cheap toilet paper. It would probably be 70-0 at the half and SLC would be forced to forfeit after that due to too many injuries.

actually Harvard is in the Ivy league and their former quarterback just threw for over 300 yards in the NFL last week in his rookie year and his first ever game. I doubt that any high school quarterback could do that.

read the entire thread. It was started by a Lufkin fan and then it was continued as a joke pointing at how bad the Texans have been lately and how good Carroll has played lately. Nobody actually thought that Carroll was as good as an NFL or college team. If you look at the posts that said Carroll could beat a college team most of them are by non-Carroll fans and have been argued against by Carroll fans.

read the entire thread. It was started by a Lufkin fan and then it was continued as a joke pointing at how bad the Texans have been lately and how good Carroll has played lately. Nobody actually thought that Carroll was as good as an NFL or college team. If you look at the posts that said Carroll could beat a college team most of them are by non-Carroll fans and have been argued against by Carroll fans.

Just wondering?? Katy did beat the Dragons in 03'....... So that would put the tigers up there with them as a powerhouse that that they already were right!!?? So why doesn't Katy post any amazingly crazy threads like "katy vs. Cowboy" or "Katy vs. China" or maybe even "Katy vs. Al-Qaeda" heck they did topple one the biggest powerhouses in 5A. Speak up katy fans don't let the forget!!!

you mentioned 2003. I was just pointing out that what happened last year has more to do with this thread than what happened two years ago. This thread was not started by Carroll fans, it was started by a Lufkin fan.

I know that most people, when talking about history usually mention what happened the previous year but the fact of the matter is that Katy is your one lose in yalls amazing record in these recent years. And also I do recall the first time when yall beat Sv in 5A seeing these same posts on the boards. But, I Didnt know that it was started by a lufkin fan, just read yhe title didnt really read into it. I've just seen these things way to much on the boards.................I guess I'm jealous, I'd rather like seeing a "SV vs. THE WORLD threads. lol j/k
