This is my question watching the Permian vs Allen game yesterday it seemed to me and people I was sitting by that permian was letting to much time run off the clock. No urgency what so ever. There was no two minute offense it the last couple of minutes of the game. Even if the kid got a first down for Permian I don't see permian being able to reach the endzone in time whith how much time was on the clock and no timeouts. Permian would let the to much time run off the clock between plays. Where was the two minute offense.
Anyways Permian let Allen lay that many points on them with a back up QB not good. Permian speed is to slow to go further. After watching the game and seeing what I saw from both teams Allen has a very big hurdle to get over next week and thats Trinity. Permian should be thankful that allen beat them in a close game because trinity would have made you guys look like a J.V. . Need more team speed to make it further in the playoffs. Your running back was caught from behind to many times no break away speed. Maybe next year if permian gets some urgency and installs a two minute offense they can compete among the elite of 5A.

mr/mrs tiger94.......these are great points from you. i think you might be the only person there that saw that....simply amazing!! do yourself a favor though, check permians history and let us know 1 year, just 1, in which permian was bigger, stronger, or faster than our opponent. we will all be curiously waiting:confused:. btw.....is anyone here really considering permian a 'big time' football program? if you are, youre about 15 years behind:( (to help you out, just look at our title years.......it'll save you tons of time)

Maby you need to remember these are 15, 16, 17, and 18 year old KIDS we are dealing with. Need more team speed? Well they made it to the third round...that's pretty good. There's not that many schools that have what you call a "break away" runner. The one's that do are usually the very special teams. I agree with MOJO Mystique: Go become a coach and see how well you will do. Heck, I would like to see how you do in a non-district game let alone the third round of the playoffs.

Maybe he/she does not know Permian at all! Permian has been one of the best programs for 49 years! Hey mister or lady!, were do you come off saying "then they can compete among with the elite in 5A"???? Permian is elite!!! If they wern't, Permian would not have been ranked 4 (State) in the AP poll and 17 (Nation) in ESPN's Fab 50. Permian is going too do, what Permian wants too do, nuff said!!!!!!

I'll be honest, I was disappointed in our inability to save time outs and pass the ball in important spots. HOWEVER, we began running the ball like we did after we realized that Allen was dropping NINE men into coverage on many plays. You don't pass into that type of look if you can avoid it. I think we ran a great two-minute offense up until the 3rd and 3 where we chose to run the ball again instead of possibly throwing the ball. That being said, we were doing whatever we wanted on the ground all game. Ray wasn't a break-away type runner, but he sure was good at breaking through the first line of defenders and getting into the secondary. The fact is, we got about 50 yards in about a minute and a half by running the ball and had a minute and a half left from their 40. There was plenty of time if we get that first down. Don't kid yourself.
P.S. We held their offense to under 300 yards. Our defense did a better job against Allen than virtually anyone else has.

With that being said that must mean that Allen doesn't have chance in :Censor: at beating Trinity since MOJO held them under 300 yrds and Trinity would beat up on MOJO like they were a JV.
One last thing: How many State Titles has Allen won? How long has Allen been an elite program? Allen didn't know what consitency was until Joe Martin arrived. Don't kid yourself...Allen hasn't reached Elite status just yet.
