I won't nominate a QB that is one-dimensional. They have to be able to run and pass. Vince Young style

Sorry there is not a QB that just sticks out to me that is that good. I know Sharrod Harris and Jevan Snead are UT bound, but I feel McElroy is the best overall player for a team in Texas.

I understand what your saying but it is real hard for a defensive player to win the Heisman. As good as Sergio was I feel that if Woodro Wilson would have had McElroy then they would have been better. But that is why I started this thread throw me your 5 that are out there. This is just a thought. Maybe KT2000 should actually have a board vot on this or something like that.

I do know that he holds offers from Texas A&M and Iowa State so he must be doing something right. But the scariest thing about that stat is that he is only a JR. I think it is safe to say he will be atleast a 3 star recruit next season

McElroy would still be good if he didnt play for Southlake however he would NOT be in the discussion for high school Heisman. Straight up the only reason why 5A fans would even pay attention to Woodrow Wilson other than the fact that its the answer to the trivia question, which high school has produced 2 heisman winners, is Sergio Kindle.

The canidates are good they order is just wrong. I'll just say Dimitri Nance is at least ahead of Dez. And Stafford and Kindle are ahead of McElroy, and thats not a knock on McElroy at all. Its just if uve seem them play in person you know what I'm talking about.

There were a lot of scouts checking out Highland Park last Saturday in Texslum Stadium. I hope they stayed to watch the 2nd game! :)
HP's QB looks like he's going to make some D1 college coach sleep very well at night. Is he committed yet?
Maybe we should start a 2006 Texas Heisman list. I've got a couple of potential candidates in the old ACM back yard.

I hate it when Texas talent leaves the Big 12. But, hey, the SEC has always been the premier conference in my opinion. Hard to argue with that choice. I sure miss the Southwest Conference. Those were the days.

RGVBadboy is correct! Bradley Stephens had 2633 yds in 10 games. He reached the 2100 mark in his 8th game, Broke the valley regular season record in his 9th game with 2400+ yds and smashed the valley full season rushing record in his 10 game finishing with 2633 yds. He had three 300+ yd games in a row. He currently is on pace to be included as one of the all time top 10 career rushers for the state of Texas. He currently has 5400+ career yds according to a previous rivals post. check out his season stats on Texas THSCA.COM ( you need to type in the 5A classification and individual stat link )

saw where hatfield will retire today, too. like the man a lot, but he's been going thru the motions as a coach recently, it seems. my brother is trying to get them to go after dodge. i can hear the cheers across the state for rice's success in this hire.

My dad wants Dodge to go to UT. I like Rice and just wanted to razz you about them.
I really don't think I have that much chaff. I think the vast majority of my posts are informative, entertaining, and insightful. That's not easy when you post as much as I do. I've pretty much stayed away from certain teams this year, including your's.

you never came in to get your shoulder reduced, or maybe it's better to leave it dislocated for the self-flaggelation on the dorsal torso. hey, what's the high over there this week. dangit, it was almost 85 in the hill country this weekend. tough on the deer hunters.

4. WR Dez Bryant, Lufkin 41 Catches 950 YDS 14 TD's
I love Dez, but...
I see your homer pick, and I call with one of my own (hey, I'm allowed one a year, right?)
WR Michael Fuda, Jr., Katy - 41 rec, 1,060 yds, 18 TD...in one less game.
It's really not a homer pick since his numbers are better across the board.
Anywhoo...
To the original question...the answer is Sergio Kindle, in a walk. He's an absolute terror on defense as well. He's got to be one of the Top 10 players in the entire nation.

If you're looking for a team leader who wins by desire I would pick the QB from Cove. He may not have the stats that SLC and High Park Qb has, but he runs well, throws well and makes great decisions. He is a game changer. If there are any Cove fans on the board, please help me out here. I was very impressed with him when we played them. We were pretty much dominating them on both sides of the ball until he entered the game, injured I might add, and completely took control.

I have seen Stafford, Snead and McElroy play this year......
In my opinion the only reason Snead and Stafford have been more highly recruited then McElroy is that schools had a bunch of film on them from their junior year. Colleges go after the QB position first and all they can rely on is game film.
All three are super talented and each possess unique strengths.....I would take any of the three anyday and I predict all three will be huge success's at the next level....
I don't think anywhere in the country has produced this type of talent in the same year....North Texas should be proud...

Stafford is the number 1 pro style QB in the nation this year. He is a solid Georgia commit and will be starting for the Dawgs pretty quickly. He has quided HP to a great season and has a duel with another great QB this week in Jevin Sneed. Both teams are 13-0 and a shot at a state championship birth is at stake, it is right down the street from my apartment at UNT but I will be at Tx Stadium.
