well the head coach for texas a&m is gone. have to say i am happy to see him go. he hasn't done to hot the past few years and even though i am a true longhorn fan, i do see a lot of potential in aggie football.

I dont think it was Fran that was fired... Ive seen some articles about CarlTorbush the defensive coordinator that was fired, not Fran. Not surprised to see him go though. They were 108th in overall defense and 117th in pass defense...

It was the DC, Torbush. I don't necessarily think A&M has a bad coaching staff, I just think that they make a lot of bad decisions and quit too early. I like that young QB that played his heart out against UT last weekend. I cheer for all the Texas teams but when push comes to shove, I am burnt orange thru and thru.

But, back on topic. I think A&M will keep their head coach for at least a few more years. I had heard he has something like 5 years left on his contract(I could be wrong). A&M just needs to push that young QB Stephen McGee and keep pounding away.

McGee played with Jordan Shipley (UT) at Burnet. They lost 3A title games their last 2 years in high school.

Ya.. that 3A Burnett team that played for a couple of State titles has about 6 or 7 kids that are playing in major college football.

Torbush got fired, not Franchione. Fran has 4 or 5 years left and our fabled coach of the 80's (Sherrill) had a crappy starting 3 years as well. We will improve.

Jordan Shipley...he's been talked about so much but has never played a down at UT. I was at the practice this sumer where he tore his ACL. It was bad...

supposedly there's a joke in the longhorn nation that he doesnt exist...but i saw him! or an imposter...
