View Full Version : 5a has 1 game Friday. Who is going?

I would love to see this game Friday. I know it will be worth the trip. We have been playing at Rice. There is no way to sell out at Rice. Could this game sell out? I would hate to make the trip and not get in.

What time would you have to leave to get there for opening kickoff?
The other option for Katy people is a 3A Semi-Final at Katy's Rhodes.
I would rather see Lufkin, though.

I doubt Lufkin and Cove sell out at Baylor.

The only way Baylor would be sold out is if Lufkin and Abilene were to meet there in the semis which aint happeing. Abilene just about had the home side full at Floyd Casey last week, and I remember Lufkin about having the visitor side full last year against Carroll.

How well do Cove fans usually travel?

They won't come close to filling up their side. Don't forget a lot of Cove residents are temporaries in the military.

I'm one of a small contingent of ACM fans that will be making the drive to Waco two days in a row. I'm so looking forward to the smack-down. Finally, one large group of 5ATexasFootball.com fans will be shut up! :)

(and I want to be there when it happens... why? I'm supporting 13-5A and I will want to offer my "ahem", "expert" :rolleyes: analysis of the game on this message board for the endless weeks of LP/CC bickering that will surely follow...)

I will be there. I saw Cove play Leander and I know what a good team Cove is. This will be a great game that could go ether way.
Hey, ACM dad! Are you talking about Lufkin fans? In my opinion we have been much more sedate than in years past. Especially during the Reggie and Lane years. I have seen the same sort of exuberance growing in the Cove contingent, but thats a good thing. They have a team to be proud of and so do we. :) :)

While I'd rather see 5A, I'll stay close and see what should be a great 3A game. It's about 2.5 hours to Waco.

You should make the drive. It will be a great game. I will be shocked if one team dominates the other.

Cove travels well. We've probably averaged about 5000-6000 fans for the first three rounds. And now that is our first time in the regional finals, plus its close to home, I wouldn't be surprised if we put 10,000 in the stands. I also hear a lot of people from the district will be there to root on the Dawgs, from Killeen and Waco.

I'd probably leave around 3oClockish. This will probably be the last 5a game of the this year I will see outside of Katy. If Katy does take a loss I will see the other games. Probably just set myself up to get quoted and slamed with that remark.

If you want to go KtCarl let me know. Maybe we could ride together. Get KT2000 and some others for a little trip.
